FLY'N

WARNING Insane difficulty.
To those who are thinking of buying Fly'n. In my opinion, this game is incredibaly hard. Especially on the boss levels. I still recomend it because of the adorable graphics, replay value, and gameplay variety, but this is certainly the hardest platformer I have ever played.

I'm just gonna note here what it's not worse than Super Meat Boy for sure, in my opinion ;D
Using KB or xbox gamepad?

I completed it 100%, all on keyboard! And playing on keyboard is OK, I think. Didn't seem as difficult as it could be to me. But, well, I'm quite into platformers...

I'm using a keyboard and a mouse pad. The only other platformers i've played are Limbo, Thomas was Alone, LBP, and a Braid demo. idk. I guess i'm not a hardcore pc platformer. Wait, you can use a xbox controller on pc???
fish Sep 22, 2013 @ 2:12am
Yes you can! You can use wireless one plus that adapter thingy or the one with wires. Keyboard is okay, but in my opinion controllers almost always enchance the experience in platformers. Precision and stuff.
Still, I can't think of anything harder than Super Meat Boy or I Wanna Be The Guy.

Its not working! AAAAAHHHH! I'm pushing the big x button and it just turns on my xbox from down stairs. I'm all the way up in my room!!!! Why is it doing that???? *going crazy*

Sorry. Went a little crazy. What do you mean by adapter thingy?

Actually I found out it's called wireless receiver, I think. Sorry for that confusion!
I don't really know what to do with wireless ones... If you have a receiver, you probably need to install drivers too? When I plugged in my controller, it installed drivers automatically. You probably should ask someone else, I honestly don't know about how to make wireless controllers work with computer!
I also have a xbox and a couple of wireless controllers with that, but I still got a wired one for computer. Especially when I couldn't find a receiver anywhere around here! I must note what not only original xbox controllers work with Steam for that matter. I have a Thrustmaster and it works too!

Ooooh, okay. I can probably find a wireless receiver on amazon or something. Thanks a lot for your help!

Hardest platformer youve ever played? Geez, you wouldnt get past world 1 in Super Meat Boy if you think THIS is hard. :dealwithit:
I started playing it with the xbox wired controller, and it works VERY well with that controller.

I agree SMB is a good challenge, but I think Dustforce deserves a mention in that sentence. IWBtG is more like one giant QTE, in my opinion. It's more about memorizing random insta-deaths that have no indication of their arrival before it is to late than skill based precision platforming.

I see you have Dustforce already. You should delve into it some more if you dig precision platformers.

I see you never played Volgarr the Viking.

I also think that the control is not very difficult
