Feedback from a new player
This game is really cool, but I feel you guys have made a major error in not having a better tutorial and UI. You've got a small window of opportunity to hook new players, and if a player is frustrated because they can't understand the game due to the extremely poor quality tutorial, and a UI that is confusing and uninformative, they're simply not going to play. They'll move on to something else. There are a ton of other games that have put more consideration into the new player experience, and this is what players expect now. They want a low learning curve so they can get into the action and enjoy themselves rather than being frustrated with their new purchase.

May not concern you too much since you've already got the player's money, but that's my two cents.

Get a better tutorial in the game pronto and work on a better context driven help system for new players (should have an option to disable for experience players). I shouldn't have to go to the internet or the wiki to learn how to board enemy ships or what all the weapons do. IMO this game was not ready for a release and still needs a lot of polish. I wish more players would consider these things before they greenlight games.

Not quite as ideal as an in-game tutorial I agree, but it's a step in the right direction none the less.

Thanks! This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about, though - I had absolutely NO idea that these tutorials existed. There's no mention of them anywhere in the game. I'm not a picky man - I'd settle for this if there were at least a link from the game's start menu to the videos on the developer's website.

These were only created (by us at GamerGuides.com) last week so they were made way after the game was released.

i just got it in the sale and found it had about a 15min learning curve, not as bad as alot of the other games i play and its alot of fun! just wish i didnt get stuck at the backround screen sometimes

I tried to enjoy it but I'm finding it hard to. I pretty much figured out what to do after a few minutes but I wasn't having much fun. I kept falling of the ship when I tried to glide on to it and I never got to use the cannons and when I started piloting a new ship, some guy got on, took control over the ship from me using his rank, flew directly at an enemy ship and got us blown up.

I really want to enjoy this but after 30 minutes or so, I was sick of standing on the deck waiting to blow up and sick of waiting in the queue because of limited servers.

I know this will probably never happen but if this game had a singleplayer mode or bots, I'd play the hell out of it and I really want to.

So it doesn't hold your hand and walk you through with baby steps.

It's relatively easy to pick up if you give it some time. Takes a bit of patience, which is why the people who stick it out tend to be good people to play the game with. Of course you will get selfish people in any game, but when you're working on board a ship in unison and everything is running smoothly with several other people, it's very enjoyable.
