1.1 Update Released (Dec 20th)
AirBuccaneers v1.1 Changelist
New Features:
Holiday horns and hats added
Command line argument -skipautoreso will skip automatic resolution set (might help some players having problems with resolution)
Added disconnect button to main menu
Setting to enable/disable blood
Steam account can be upgraded using Pre-Alpha game keys (GamersGate)
Minimum effects only feature added to graphics settings. Disableds/minimizes particle effects that cause memory leaks in Unity3D
Thrown grenades can be destroyed with Blocker

Pull rank feature updated. Every 15 rank levels allows 1 pull rank per match
Pull rank cannot be used on kamikaze and cog ships
Musket projectile size increased, collision detection improved.

Multiple changes to particle effects to work around Unity3D memory leak
Boost menu now has fixed position
Crew menu will now stop expanding once there is no more space. "+ x more" is displayed instead
Fixed button positioning in admin menu
Emblem correct icon fix
Fixed HUD XP issues where invalid too high XP would be shown after a match
Fixed main menu XP fields showing captain XP for defender and and cannoneer
Fix to pink entries in saga tower
Fix to log spam: "Restarting due to runtime limit exceeded"

Optimized assset sizes to decrease memory usage

Wow! That should be in balance section. Where is counter on that for Guerilla? So crew doesn't have to kill invader, just stay on deck and destroy each granade. Laughing there and enjoy easy mode fairyland.

Perk menu and whole menu is still buged. Steam files integrity chacker does not help.

Oh come now Santa, not like most crews can stop you from blowing them up anyway. I read it as only grenades in air which isn't too imbalancing.

It's affects grenades on ground, too. After some playtime we can tell if it is now too easy to block the nades. In the old mod it worked like this and it did not cause any problems.

I think the defenders did not have enough options before this against boarders.

@jew_santa: I'll inform the coder responsible for the tower about your problem...

Being able to shoot the baggies once again does counter the easymode fairyland of just hanging on the ropes tossing nades at the deck and running away when someone comes to kill you, or running laps around the flying fortress while dropping bags. Might actually have to come to the deck and fight now.

Seriously though, in the mod the bags often clipped inside cannons and other spots where they were impossible to shoot. Doesn't seem to be that way here and the explosion cloud is big. This makes it more powerful counter. Maybe this could be considered the interim solution until kick is implemented. Otherwise might need to buff the grenades by making them sticky again, so it's easier to throw them at the balloon from above. Give them back their old role as bombs. "Get your gunpowder. Let's bomb those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s!"

Still work in a chaotic big crew battleship boarding situation, though.

No, You are wrong Sir Kissamies. If crew are not total newbies and they orginize them selves in defence it's just fine and even. One guarding one side on deck, one the other side, and one jump after intruder. And ffs you have Sniper, perk dont you? And now add, this new wonder of sweeping granades and undestructable 'taken' ships. Taking ships also doesn't give any points. All of those things together will make boarding pointless soon. Guns of Airbbuaccarus.

People can't see intruder hanging on the rope 20 seconds or can't use their brains to organize in defence. So yeah, there is need to make things even easier! That's fairyland Sir.

Flying fortress? Fight on deck for what, for zero points and vulnerable pray for enemy? When I defened FF(or any other ship), 75% of such powder monkey runs failed.

Nope, still about 800 XP short. It is the highest on the tree, after all. Even if I did have it, I doubt I used it if it consumes ammo as reported.

This is a scoring problem, which needs its own solution

The ability to destroy the bags is a good and needed thing, but the huge musket cloud just makes it ridiculously easy. It occurred to me that it might be better if it required the actual musket projectile to hit the bag. Still pretty easy to do if someone just tosses it from the ropes, harder when there's a crowd of people running around and waving swords at your face.

In current circumstances granade sweep brakes balanace. Balance which was present there if You have access to Sniper perk. Or even without it, just well organized mele defenders with damage perks was enough.

It could be good thing but not in current situation. If atacker going to be spotted by good guards they will prevent him from take highest position on rope. Atacker will be forced to stay low and fight there on ropes. Occasionally throwing granade from that low position. Which is not so easy belive me. And now those granades going to be swept just like that.

Should be done something for atacker to counter that. Maybe one granade sticked to deck underneath or balloon, and other thrown on deck. Shorter delay maybe. And then go and try to sweep them or simply kill intruder.

It's related to boarding and overal game balance. Can't be separated.

Puzzling thing.

Game suffers from urgent issues like: graphics anomalies, crashes, buged 'choose perk' menu which prevent player from choose his perks properly, authentifacion fails, indestructable 'taken' ships, not functioning 'domination' mode which is joke, NOT FUNCTIONAL or buged PERKS- relics of alfa, no autobalance.

And what was done at first place...?

When the defenders disengage you to prevent the grenade, they become vulnerable. You can probably use this to your advantage.

I've seen you single handedly take down large crews with your grenades, which arguebly is worst to the game since it breaks the point of working in a team. If want to keep boarding enemy ships nothing is stopping you and if you boarded a ship with a team then you'll still be a great threat. If you want to comandeer enemy ships then target smaller crews. Boarding an enemy ship is still a great way to distrup an enemy ship if it's in combat giving your team an advantage.

I've seen you play the whole match just boarding enemy ships and dropping them with grenades , you got at least 5 drops a match like this right? Or maybe a little less, all I know is that I'm scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of you and your damn grenades. Now I finally have the confindence to leave the house!
