Custom maps specifically for Holdout...
I just got done playing the available maps for this mutation... personally I love it... and I can see some GREAT potential with this...

I have actually been working on a L4D2 survival map... the final product was supposed to be something very similar to this mutation... except this is better in every way...

So... Does anyone have the foggiest clue how one would begin making a map specifically designed for this mutation... because I got nothing...

I added Holdout support to my campaign, and it can be a bit tricky to get all the features working right. Basically you'll want to copy the script from one of the official maps, and modify it to your liking. Then you place entity groups for the different objects using the entity placer in-game using tools mode.

Example scripts and entity groups are in:
common\left 4 dead 2\sdk_content\scripting\scripts\vscripts

Thank you Rectus... this is exactly what I needed to know... I should be able to figure out the rest from here...

This mode needs valve to do some more maps for it. I know its only test mutation but its one of the best they have ever made.

Any other resources besides that one with the gnome hunter tutorial? I tried reading through that link but I didn't have any luck getting things to work.

It'll probably be some time before anyone makes a proper tutorial. Until then you'll have to reverse engineer the scripts, and try to figure out how Valve made things work. If you have any specific question, just ask.
