Game ending didn't reveal ....
anything about the creature?! Did I miss something?
After injecting the cure I travelled to the boat, where I found a box with cure syringes and a bottle of whiskey. Then the game ended.
Everybody was saying that it would be revealed that the creature was a byproduct of the plague iirc.

Big thanks to the devs for this very interesting game!

Like the rest of the game, it doesn't really give you anything for free. You have to explore a bit and piece together your bits of information.

So, did I miss some note or book, which I should find by exploring more, or is it a matter of interpretation what I already have?

When you go into any board, really ANY board, the first thing you should do is check the stickies...

Why should I check threads that are marked as "Spoilers" when I don't want spoilers?

Because you're asking for something about the game ending !? How much more spoiler-ish can it get ! LOL

It is a matter of interpretation, yes.

I wasn't asking for spoilers about the ending; I already know the ending. I was asking about the process of how the game was delivering plot information to the player.

You may have traveled to the boat too soon for the realization to sink in. If you continue to explore the island after the cure, the creature ceases to appear. Ever. When you add the fact that the notes on the island make no mention of a creature murdering tons of researchers (surely that danger would be worth noting considering the other junk they took time to jot down) AND all the humans appear to be killed by human hands(knife in the back), it all fits together.

One thing you should pay attention to at the end is the name on the journal you carry.
I think when I started I was Robert Hughes in the game. In the end he gets in the boat and looks in a crate. The crate is full of vials of the cure. He moves a journal with the name of Herbert Goughs.

So, and I'm not good at this, Goughs found the cure before I did? He loaded a crate full of the cure onto the boat and then ... what? He disappeared?

I found a lot of the bodies, but didn't bother trying to identify them. Is Goughs the killer? Or did he go crazy and kill himself too? Or did he get murdered or loose his marbles before he could go off in the boat? Seems odd because the cure was instantaneous.

Seems like the ending might not be as vague as it first seems. I think they should have had you paying more attention to the dead scientists, who they were and who was killing them if this was of importance. Maybe its all a very clever plot to get you to play through the whole thing several times now knowing that the dead are of some importance to the story.

@SugarySnax; I'd suggest you read the stickied spoiler/story thread. It's pretty clear you killed all of them.

It was obvious by it's absence.

The way I see it is that because there was no trace of the monster after you beat the game that it was all in your head. Herbert Goughs also had the monster come to him. If all the dead people had knives in their back, the monster could not have done that. Right? You have the same simptomes as Herbert Goughs, and when you beat the game it shows the name Herbert Goughs on the front. Therefore YOU are Herbert Goughs and YOU murdered all those people.[]

Also, if you take the letters of the name Robert Hughes and change their order you can build Herbert Goughs with it.
