How will the game play with my rig?

CPU: AMD FX-6300 BOX 3,5 GHz - 14MB Cache - 95W
Mainboard: Asus AM3+ M5A97 (970 ATX)
RAM: DDR3 1600 8GB CL8 Corsair 2x4GB Vengeance
Graphics card: Geforce 550 Ti (MSI)
Graphics memory: 1Gb
Hard Disc (SSD): Samsung 840 Pro 128GB
All at vanilla settings, nothing over-clocked.

I suppose my GPU is going to be a bottleneck. Anyone played the game with a GPU in that rank?

How crisp can I expect the game to be and how many FPS's can I expect?

I'm asking this now that the first official patch has come out and seeing a lot of optimization entries there make me think I can enjoy the graphics in it.

Would really like to purchase it but if I'll get a crappy performance and visuals out of my monitor I'm gonna be very dissapointed and probably won't play the game - yep I'm a graphical ♥♥♥♥♥... ;)

So what do you say?

I have a similar graphoics card to yours i think-

NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M (with Cuda)

I don't understand what that mean but the rest of my specs are also-

Intel 8 core i7
4GHz RAM
Windows 7 64-bit

Anyway so far I've not been able to get a very good performance out of the game, grainy water and slow fram rate, really jerky when moving from side to side. I'm very disappointed, and still waiting for a solution from the devs.

My graphics card can handly some pretty slick graphcs, whcih usually maxes out my CPU and fan. Do you know what kind of quality graphics card i have, is it similar to yours?

Based on this GPU hierarchy chart it looks like my GPU is 10 levels higher from yours. What other games have you played with it? I'm surprised you get sleek graphics with it.

If any of you guys have one of those GPU's please let me know about the performance you are getting with it:

Discrete Nvidia: GTX 260, 275, 280, 460 192-bit, 460 SE, 550 Ti, 560 SE, 650
Discrete Ati Radeon: HD 4870, 5770, 4890, 5830, 6770, 6790, 7750

Those are ranked in the same level performance-wise.

If yours is better then maybe it will run Miasmata batter than mine. As i say I may just have to adjust the settings, still no feedback from the devs though, and all I got from Steam was something about reinstalling Direct X 11. Made no difference.

Only one way to find out if your graphics card works well with the game I guess. Hope you have better luck than I did.

My sister just tried it on her new rig (i5 3.2GHz quad, 16Gb ram, Asus GTX650Ti 1Gb) and she was able to run it on maximum detail@1920x1080 at a decent rate. Didn't install Fraps, but by eye it looks to be running around 30fps+ and looks great. Her video card app says the card is not even maxxed out (925Mhz out of 1300Mhz).

On my system, (Dual 2.6Ghz, 6Gb ram, GeForce 9500GT 550Mhz core 512 Mb) I struggle to get 24fps with minimum everything, and have dropped resolution to about 1366 (from 1920) to get it halfway playable. The sad part is I can pull 200fps in Team Fortress 2...

I'm not sure what are you talking about. I said that I haven't found the date when those reviews you linked here were made so I don't know how old your GPU is. Can't find anything relevant on the net about it. It seems though it is not that old though since I saw one review of it from summer last year. Still it's performance is low so I'm surprised you can get stellar graphics from other games. For me you not being able to play Miasmata is what is to be expected.

OK, her GPU is 2 levels higher then mine and having only 30 FPS simply sucks. Looks like I won't buy it until I purchase a new GPU. Thanx all for participating and I hope devs optimize game to the point where you will be able to play it with joy! :D

I have a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 580 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 (772 MHz/4008 MHz), an older Dual Core 3GHz processor (E8400), 4 Gig of DDR2 RAM, and I'm running Windows Vista and it runs ok for me. I have the occassional crash (only if the game is left paused strangely) but I'm not really surprised as I've got it running with everything on high lol

if it helps you i'll add to the available info; mine is a gtx 670 with all the settings maxed in the game running at 1080p and it's smooth as butter. which makes me think you might do alright with a 550ti, since it appears i have some headroom.
the game is well worth a look. the island and exploration are fantastic.

You guys have 6-7 levels higher ranking GPU's from mine. Thanx for the input but that does not help me a lot only to know if I upgrade what I can expect. ;)

I think this has more to do with compatibility than how good your graphics card it. They designed the engine for this by themselves from scratch, so evidently there are some issues with some systems. I only paid £4 for it so I'llhang onto it and hope that they can come up with a fix for my set up sometime, I don't have time to play games right now anyway.

Looking at the recommended hardware specs for this game they listed 2 GPU's that fall right into the same performance level as my GPU sits. Hmmmm.
