Censorship brought to you by Miner Wars.
EDIT BY MAREK ROSA: We decided to lock this thread but not delete it, just bear in mind that the poster has stated many accusations with no proof. We left it here for your consideration.

This is becoming increasingly common on the Steam forums. Companies like this are censoring the forums. Not because people are breaking forum rules but because they are saying things against the game or developer.

Posts about the games DRM, always online requirement and issues the developer refuses to fix are being locked or removed. Please do not support this type of corrupt company and their draconian forum management.

Edit: *WARNING: WALL OF TEXT TO FOLLOW*

Apparently there are a lot of people coming on here and not reading all or enough of the posts. So here's a refresher. I was frustrated after multiple posts in a short period of time had gotten locked and made the original post. The developer Marek Rosa (aka MinerWars) then threw me a backhanded insult and threatened to ban me.

MinerWars a écrit :
@Devil Man X

I belive we are going to have some fun together. For starters, please be more specific and tell us what are we censoring. Best would be a proof.

I am not saying that your are trolling - but without a proof your statement is just a bad mouthing.

BTW, according to Steam Disussion Rules and Guidelines we could ban you from our forum, but we didn't do it. Perhaps because we are censor lovers, right?

Another poster named ThreeSon asked him what I had done to be threatened with banning and where the rule was posted that showed this. He responded by insulting ThreeSon and dismissing his assertion that I had done nothing wrong with the following post.

MinerWars a écrit :
@ThreeSon

I could continue in this discussion but I am not going to feed a troll.

ThreeSon then challenged him to defend his locking of posts here on Steam. Which has since been proven here as well as on other sites. His response was that they had not been locking or in any way censoring posts. This was MinerWars Post.

MinerWars a écrit :
The best proof of ThreeSon's claims is that we didn't delete nor lock this or any other thread. That how we do censorhip :-)

ThreeSon then linked him to a post he had most certainly locked after claiming he had NEVER done such a thing. This was his response.

MinerWars a écrit :
I locked that thread, but that's far from censoring. And I locked it because the discussion led to nowhere.

I then responded by pointing out to MinerWars that while I was trying to be open minded and simply voicing my opinion about an issue I saw, he had in fact been the troll and was actively attacking his community. He did not respond immediately and then the night before the game was made the daily deal on Steam he posted this.

MinerWars a écrit :
@ThreeSon & @Devil Man X

Can we bury the hatchet? Fighting leads to nowhere.

No apology, no clearing things up and no explanation for his attitude or treatment of us. Then the daily sale hit and a multitude of people came on here and said how his attitude turned them off of buying the game. After seeing that he was losing money because of his attitude he offered something akin to an explanation.

My name is Marek Rosa and I am the owner of Keen Software House. That means, I am not anonymous, I am not hiding. Also, I can't fire myself.

In my above posts I was not replying as a "random customer support guy" who has to take ***. I was replying as myself - trying to explain that we are not censoring this forum (one more time).

Yes I went a bit casual when I named these guys trolls and said few things such as "we are going to have some fun". Everyone who knows me knows that this is my type of humor. For those who don't know me - just don't take everything I say so seriously, please.

In the society where I live we appreciate open and honest discussion and if we don't like something the other side is saying - we don't say "you are offending me bla bla"

The bottom line is, those who want to hate me for what I just said - you can do it, I am ok with that. You are still more than welcome on this forum :-)

Marek

He then went right back to insulting us and in the same breath trying to sell his game.

MinerWars a écrit :
Anyway, there are far better things to discuss than trolls.

For example we just released source code for this game (360,000 lines of code):
http://steamcommunity.com/app/223430/discussions/0/810919056971037182/

Now, after seeing his sales not reach their apparent goals and multiple communities turning against him he changes his tone and starts referring to us as "Dear Friends" instead of "Trolls".

MinerWars a écrit :
Dear Friends,

we locked those "DRM and Censoring" threads only because people kept going there, didn't read the whole thing (not our comments), and then they were making wrong conclusions (for example assuming there's still DRM)

It wasn't good for nobody, not for us, not for them - so why keep open a topic that's just confusing?

If we wanted to enforce censorship, why would I even continue in this topic?

MinerWars/Marek has been nothing but a insulting to me and others. No matter how polite or open I was nothing changed. Then his sales numbers were affected and suddenly he wanted to play nice. I will not support this type of ♥♥♥♥♥ic/backwards mentality. His ignorant views on customer service are quite ridiculous in my opinion.

Everything I've said in this post is on this thread if you want to read it. I would encourage you to do so if you doubt my honesty. Now you can make an informed decision about who the troll is here and if MinerWars is worthy of your support.

Thank you.

I'm sorry. This is not about the game having DRM or not. It is about the developer censoring the posts on the steam forums.

Hence the title "CENSORSHIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY MINER WARS". Troll better.

What part of the Steam Discussion Rules and Guidelines has been violated here? I'd like you to point out the exact rule, please.

Yes, thank you. Now please point out to me the exact rule which was broken. I'm kind of a slow reader, you see, so I'm having some trouble locating it.

Yeah, a troll. That's me. You can't seem to find any actual rule that's been broken by the OP (hint: because there isn't one), after bragging to him about how you could ban him from the forums.

And I'm the troll.

But you're right. No need to continue this discussion with you. I think the point has been made pretty clearly.

Because it's been proven false? No such thing as censorship. Troll better above poster.
Colonel Cabbage 12 mar 2013 à 7h50
I hate to continue this but there is a rule that could have been broken and that's "Openly argue with a moderator" I mean, he did openly call them out and he did practically ask for an argument.
Doctor Ragnarok 12 mar 2013 à 9h09
Censorship, huh? I've seen plenty of talk about the DRM and all the rest of it, and each seem to have lived a full life before being closed. As far as I can tell, even though the developers have already made open statements regarding the DRM and the introduction of offline mode, everyone still whines about it. You don't need to be always online anymore, so the entire argument is moot. It also appears to me that the developers are in fact fixing known issues. Just yesterday we got back the ability to alt+tab without crashing, and there was an update today which I haven't had the time to look into yet. You might want to look up corruption in the dictionary, and do some research in general before attempting to speak out against a person or company. And in response to threeson, who is himself arguing with a moderator and breaking a rule, the OP could technically fall under insulting others since he is negatively labeling the company without fair proof or reason.

He's not even addressing his comments towards the moderators at all. He's addressing them to potential customers. You can't be "arguing with a moderator" if you're not even talking to them in the first place. By your standards, anyone who writes a negative review of the game has violated the rule because they are asking for an argument.

So, every thread that has gone, say, 2 weeks without a new comment should be locked by the developer because they have "lived a full life," regardless of topic.

No one here is whining about anything having to do with DRM. This topic is only addressing the developer's enthusiasm for censoring comments and forum posts that criticize them.

Again, by your standards anyone who criticizes the game for any reason could be banned from the forums for "insulting" the developers. And here's the proof of censorship you're looking for: http://steamcommunity.com/app/223430/discussions/0/828923952129896845/

Really? You didn't lock this thread? Interesting; I guess the OP must have done it.
