Why do space games like this have such a problem with balance?
I'm a huge fan of space sim-type games but it's a rough addiction because games like the X series and this game too seem to have a really hard time balancing difficulty. I'm either cutting through my enemies like butter or dying in half a second to a turret I didn't see until I was already dead. Does nobody playtest and say "Hey maybe you should tweak the weapon damage values or something"? It's like playing Serious Sam (take tons of damage before death) and Rainbow Six (take very little damage before death) at the same time.
