Controller support

The game says it has partial controller support. How is it?

I'm curious, too. Any new game should have full native 360 controller (Xinput) support imo. Though if it's more simmy I can see using the keyboard as well for some things (eg X-Wing)

It detects it, but has no default controls. Does anyone have a good control scheme for it? What buttons to assign and the sensitivities?

I am sorry to see no one has posted more about this. I dont think i'll be able to get into the game because of the controls. It remiinds me of decent. I'll try setting up some configs on my controller but the fact that you can move in any direction is prolly going to be to much button pushing like decent was. I was hopeing it would have controlls like in x3:tc. Having the wasd keys doing the drifting and the mouse wheel controlling your forward or backward movement, is this set up possible ?

anolog is for left and right triggers, allso works the 2x axis l/r sticks. then use gamepad section for the other buttons.

needs more buttons then the 360 pad, but it works ok

There are two issues with the controller support in the game:

1) no defaul config provided, so you have to map it yourselfs
2) not all functions in the game are reachable via gamepad, so you need to press a keyboard or mouse button every now and then, menu control and map control with the gamepad is also wonky, so mouse is recommend there

Basic flight control however works with a gamepad, so if a keyboard and mouse is in reach, there shouldn't be much of an issue.

My current config looks like this:

left stick: movement
right stick: turning
lb/rb: up/down
rt/lt: primary and secondary weapon
left-stick-click: afterburner
right-stick-click: auto-level
dpad-left/right: roll
back: show next objective
start: show action menu
A: use
X/Y/B: weapn 3, 4, 5
dpad-up/down: zoom

I find it all but unplayable with a gamepad, no matter how I configure it. I can navigate around well enough, but I can't aim to save myself.

I'm leaving off playing it again until I can get a proper joystick, or possibly even a razer hydra. Although I still won't have enough buttons to go around.
