Developers censoring those who talk about the always online DRM
Just to let you guys know, I had top comments warning people about the always online DRM on two of the Miner Wars 2081 channel's YouTube videos until they removed them today, so not only are the developers saying the DRM isn't DRM (which we all know it is, and they confirmed it themselves on their forums) but they're also now censoring people who are trying to warn others about it.

Here are the videos, you can still see the replies to my comments from other people if you look for 'Phrix89', yet the comments themselves have been deleted:

For me this game has gone from maybe buying if they remove the DRM to not buying even if they do, I'm completely and utterly shocked at this and I hope Valve don't let them censor people talking about it on these forums.

why are you contemplating a sequel to something that is incomplete and turning customers away in droves????? fix this product first, get a fan base that supports you for a good product instead of this crap, broken shoddy rubbish you have currenltly released.

More like: You had a chance, and you're squandering it on bad practices.

I find it disturbing the number of things people complain about, "always online DRM" among them. What's the big deal? If you have attained the game legally, then it shouldn't be an issue. Honestly, you're making a big deal out of nothing.

On the other hand, if you're attempting to pirate the game, I understand the complaints. Not agree with - understand.

Hey Devs, just remember that these DRM idiots are just an extremely vocal minority, and a lot of us are too busy playing the game and don't bother to check the forum. These are just people who are looking to complain for any reason and will jump on any bandwagon.

I'd say those kind of sales are because: It's descent like, it's being released in the same week as Far Cry 3 and Assassins Creed III, it's an Indie Studios first game and most of their sales have come from people like me who have supported the project from the beginning. This has been built on the backs of a very faithful and loving community, who has had a chance to shape the game and talk to the devs through every step of production.

Keen have done everything right, the always online is to run additional computations on their server and keep up their persistent online world, multiplayer and stats. With the added bonuses of helping to stop scumbag hackers and pirates.

Do you actually to bother to read the forums? The always online requirement is nothing to do with the 'persistent online world' it's DRM, nothing more, this has even been confirmed by the developers themselves on their forums and people like you are the reason they think they can get away with using it. I hope you enjoy the future when every publisher forces you to be constantly connected to the internet to play the singleplayer portion of games and regularly shuts them down to force you to buy their sequels or for whatever other reasons they decide to do it.

That's cool, like most of the modern world I've been persistently connected to the Internet since the year 2004. It's harder to find a device in my house that isn't connected to the Internet than one that is. Always online DRM built into the game? Not a problem for me, ♥♥♥♥ty programs like uPlay and Origin? That's a problem. Third Party Drivers being installed in the background putting insecurities on my PC? Problem. Devs trying to protect their profits from their games? We cool. I wouldn't want people stealing my ♥♥♥♥ either.

The always online DRM will do little to prevent piracy, instead it's just costing them lots of sales. Also people like you will be the first to post on these forums raging when the developers shut off the servers because the company closed down or they decided they want you to buy the sequel/mmo version.
SpatterCat 2012年11月30日下午8:12
Maybe it'll get an offline mode, maybe it won't. Lots of sales? Doubt it, if the length of that petition post is any indication. They made the game they wanted to make, with the features they'd intended. It states its requirements on the store page, and there's a demo. What's the issue? Why does it behoove you to insist the world change to meet your view? Clinging to a refusal to play games because there's an online requirement is just going to leave you bitter as we move forward.

*slow clap.....clap.....clap* Great going people voting on greenlight. Great results in bringing better gaming to Steam. We were better off letting Steam decide. Give amateurs power and this is the result.

That's quite a contradiction we have going on here.

If what Phrix89 says is true, about your company deleting his post. Then what did are doing is in fact, evil. You want revenue? One main priority should come to mind, owning up to your F up plain and simple.
