The player ship's A.I. no longer gives notifications or warnings... how come? :?
Ever since one of the updates, the "lady" A.I. on my ship doesn't give me any notifications or warnings such as: "enemy detected", "cargo/inventory transfered", "harvesting complete"..., and the like. At least the flashing red warnings still appear on the H.U.D., which helps. However the worse are the solar flares... I would be expectings the "lady" to scream at me to find cover before my butt turns to crispy bacon... only to turn into a crispy critter if I'm not paying the slightest bit of attention to the H.U.D. I don't get any error messages either... which may or may not be unusual.

Also, does anyone think that having the player ship's A.I. warnings and notifications be optional in Audio? All I know is that for a fact that this already cool game will hopefully turn awesome to even epic in the future, yet not everyone will play games the same way that other people do.

This game takes me back to the "good old days" when I used to play the Descent series of games, and thats why Miner Wars 2081 will remain one of my favorites of all time. All I want to do is be able to help add a bit of "polish" and to help this game shine. ;)

Has anyone else had trouble with this? :?

If you go to Game Options, there would be three checkboxes (if I remember correctly). First is for language, second is for showing subtitles and the third one is for enabling/disabling HUD notifications.

I just tried unchecking and then re-checking them and it still does not appear to work. The ship's A.I. still does not alert me that there are enemy units present, yet the combat music still plays. I can still pay close attention to my H.U.D. to watch out for the enemy for the time being until we can figure out what is happening. :)

I definitely do not receive any voiced notificaitons of any kind. Frankly, I think this is an unfortunate loss, as it would add something very cool to the experience. I bought the game a while ago, and seem to remember getting them before, but I can't say when it changed as I haven't played in a good while.

I've checked and unchecked the appropriate notifications, to no avail. I also just started a new game tonight, so.. hmm.. I'll try verifying the game cache, maybe that'll turn up something. --- All files validated, still no audio warnings, though I do get the voice acting for the missions.

Actually no, they had the voice before in the game when I bought it. :)

The proof is right here:

One thing is for sure... we don't need to worry anymore about getting "ambushed" by enemies... or by solar flares for that matter. ;) It is also noted that the fix has been confirmed and the game works as intended. :)
