Which windows services does Miner Wars need to run?
From the troubleshooting page:

There may be some malware/virus blocking Windows services required to run the game. Please run some anti-virus/anti-malware software. This solution already helped our users run Miner Wars as well as other games!

Which windows services would they be? In my case it's (probably) not malware, I tend to disable stuff I don't use (old habits lol) until I need to use a program that requires it. It would appear Miner Wars is one of those programs lol...

Latest DirectX installed, latest .net framework, 314.07 nvidia forceware, UAC off, system clean as far as avast/malwarebytes/sas are concerned... But I get the stopped working error as soon as I try to launch the game. No logfiles generated by the game. Opted into the beta on steam, no difference. :(

I think that this comment about anti-virus/anti-malveare has been added into our troubleshooting page just in case, and this would be a very rare reason of problems.

In your case, it's most probably due to .NET - please check that chapter, perhaps you wull need some more .NET cleaning (it's describedthere)

I've already done everything from the trouble shooting page, completely cleaned out (with the cleaner) .net, reinstalled it, reinstalled all the updates one by one... Also tried reinstalling directx and tried dxslim...

CLR20r3 error...

Can you right-click on Miner Wars in your steam client library, click Properties, click Local files, click on "Verify local game cache"? (or something like that)

The first time I did that it said all files were verified. The second time I deleted the exe then started the verification. It said 165 files were missing, downloaded them... Still doesn't launch :(

I have a log file. Go me!

Had to download the exe installer from the minerwars website, and installed it seperately from steam (there's a few extra folders in the minerwars version than the steam version??)

Anyway, the log from the (still not working) minerwars.com version... I don't know if it's relevant to the steam version or not (which wasn't generating any logs):

Also got a cfg file (again from the minerwars.com version, not the steam version:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<MyMinerWarsLauncherConfig xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<UseP2P>true</UseP2P>
<MirrorUrl>
<Url>http://cdn77.update2.minerwars.com/</Url>
</MirrorUrl>
</MyMinerWarsLauncherConfig>

Should be more to it than that surely?

My .net is fubar since running the cleaner (whoops)... .net2 is awol, .net3.5 is screwed up and won't function, .net4 claims to be perfect on the other hand, but no .net apps will run lol...

Going to try removing and reinstalling them all again. Gonna do it myself this time instead of using the cleaner though. Manual reg and ifle deletion before reinstalling, joy :(

If it doesn't work after that I'm reinstalling EVERYTHING because it's probably just quicker :p

It's possible that game also requires .NET Framework 2.0, I'll check it and we hopefully get rid of this dependency.

I've just checked it, there's no dependency on .NET 2.0 or 3.5, so it should run with broken .NET 2.0 or 3.5 too.

Please check the other thread:

There are instructions how to give us some more info.
