Error while initiating direct x - try to start perpetuum in safe mode
How to fix this?

Uninstalled and installed. Same problem persists.

Your system might have a faulty DirectX installation. Try to download and run this:

What kind of GPU do you have? And what's your OS?

CPU Intel i74790K, MSI GTX 970 4G, 16 Gig RAM, Windows 7 64 bit professional

That should be ok. I'm out of ideas though. Do other 3D games run? Maybe reinstall your graphics driver?

No ther 3D games run. But the present error is an old one. Search for it in google and it appears firtst in 2010 around. You really have no clue? Reinstalling the graphics card driver i will do at the weekend.

Was that "No other games run." or "No, other games run."? A comma really makes the difference :)

And of course it's an old error, it can't run if it doesn't find a proper DirectX to run on.

I skimmed through our old support tickets, and the only guy I could find who had the same problem solved it by reinstalling the game.

No other games run :-)

I reinstalled the game already. Doesn`t fix it.

If no other games run then something is really messed up there. Maybe that graphics driver reinstall will help.

Same problem persists after complete deinstallation of driver with ddu and fresh install with todays new driver 347.52. Any solutions?

Unfortunately I can only repeat the above: if no other games run for you then this is not a problem with Perpetuum, but rather something with your system.

That's why I was asking above whether you missed a comma there, but you repeated the same statement. So apparently not :)

Try to add "-safe" (without the quotes) to the launch options of the game. Here is how to do it:

Safe mode doesn`t start the game correct. It starts only as the perpetuum symbol appears in the task bar. But i stay on the desktop.

I let the game repair it`s data and now i can start the game in the normal mode as the safe mode. I erased the safe mode from the start options.

I must say that i run a tripple monitor setup. But i started the game in former times in a tripple screen setup and it worked.

I am out of ideas now.

Maybe i should stop playing anymore?
