Any good graphics mods for Oblivion?
Recently I got a copy of Oblivion from a friend (Not a digital copy on Steam, an old 2004 verion on disk) and I booted it up and installed it, however, it looks...meh. It looks better in the trailers and to be honest I'm a little disappointed with the way it looks. I'm just wondering if the mods on the Nexus or other places will work with old copies like what I have. Also, if anyone has any recommendations about which mods I should use to make the game look better, I'd love to hear your suggestions! Thanks.

There is a lot of graphic overhauls. Start here: http://testg.wikidot.com/oblivion:tex-packs
Also check out Oblivion character overhaul 2.02. Its an amazing mod.

OBGE - Oblivion Graphics Extender

Aero v2 ENB, All Natural, Quarl Texture Pack 3 Redimized, Better Cities, Cyrodiil Extended. This is my favorites.

Aero v2 ENB is my favorite as well. Its really well made and its a shame its not as popular as it should be. I would like to recommend the Oblivion SMAA injector, OBGE POM togheter with Aero v2. The game becomes absolutly gorgeous.

There are quite a few but if the game looks meh you either have a crappy GPU or your settings are not set corrcetly. Most likely you GPU is crap.

I use SweetFX. I dislike ENB packages, and OBGE is defunct.

I put everything to maximum and use SweetFX v1.3 and this preset: http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/1479/

And it looks amazing for me :)

These mods will make different aspects of the game, a lot better:

Natural Environments
http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/2536/

Really Textured Normal Maps for Vanilla
http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/38204/

Oblivion Character Overhaul Version 2

And from the Oblivion launcher in the options, select HDR. But since HDR doesn't allow you to use Anti-Aliasing in the game, go to you graphics options panel of your card (AMD or Nvidia), and force Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering to your liking.

You mention all good mods so I need to recommend the SMAA Injector made just for Oblivion. Its better than the the forced AA option :)
