Problem with voices ingame
I went to play oblivion today and i have a issue with the audio when i talk to people i cannot hear their voices but they sound fine other than playing weird through my surround sound headset when i walk past them and they make a comment, im very confused and would like to know if anyone has a potential fix.

Thanks

You have to set your speaker system to Stereo mode or uncheck/disable the center channel speaker if you are using 5.1, so that the center channel audio is sent to your front speakers instead.

Exactly, why the .fu.k are you trying to play a stereo game in surround sound?
This is what happens noob. You won't hear certain things, in this case the voices.

and say thank you ingrate.

its not my fault lol, my headset is just surround sound as it is, never had any other games have issues though it does cause problems with determining how close enemies are in certain games

I'm pretty sure your headset is not controller your speaker settings.

How can a headset produce surround sound when there are just 2 speakers? Now, my 5.1s are surround since like 5 speakers and a sub. But a headset? Seriously? Oh, I get it.. "simulated surround".. that is another word for "fake surround". :P

-- just helping Logan here --

Simulated surround. Well I use that on my 5.1 system because I don't have a 5.1 audio card.
I am familiar with the term but thanks anyway.
