Worth $5?
I tried the Christmas theme demo and didn't really enjoy it all that much. Is the main game better? I really love the music and artistic style but not too sure about the gameplay mechanics...

I love it and think it's an amazing game but then again I grew up with Mario and games like that, the roots of which you can still see in this game.

There's a lot of variety to the various areas and how you get through them but the overall game does play pretty much along the lines of the demo so there's no real surprises.

The art and music are both phenomenal in my opinion but as a fan of platformer games from way back I think the gameplay is solid as well. You don't seem many games in this sort of genre lately though, at least not to this level of polish, so it may not be everyone's cup of tea or some people may be expecting more from what is ultimately a simple, but very well done game.

Tl;DR: It's basically like the demo so you either like it or you don't.

Yes, very much so.

It's refreshing to see an Indie platformer that is not a pretentious puzzle-filled "artistic" affair. It is a true platformer in its heart and core, platforming for platforming's sake, so if you like 2D Mario games and Donkey Kong Country, then you really can't go wrong with this game.

And the mechanics are pretty tight, the fireball attack is hard to get used to at first, but you will understand it fairly quickly.

It's a platformer, not much more to say about it. If you enjoy platformers then it's a good game to give a go. I will say though that with the abundance of throwback platformers out there, this is one of the few I've tried/seen that actually contributes more than the "here's a platformer because retro is all cool and stuff" types. I love that platformers are starting to gain a little popularity again, but far too many rely on the fact they're retro and contribute little else. This one prevents a solid gameplay mechanic and great artwork and atmosphere and really feels like a professional platformer that would stand against Sonic or Mario or any of the other greats.

It's worth the full price I think :)

It feels like a Sonic the Hedgehog game but with the two-form girl and some very impressive dark-to-light environment transitions. It also has a slightly slower pace than Sonic due to having to figure out small portions of each level. For example, I simply could not reach a platform in the 1-5 or 1-6 level (can't recall which) until I remembered there was a nearby box I could push/hit over to the moving platforms. That is just one example, of course there are many other potentially frustrating moments in the game. However, the challenges are fun to pass, and collecting the gems is mostly an afterthought to me. I found some levels fun, others a chore. That Christmas level was a chore.
