I played a lot Preversions and Demos from Giana Sisters TD so dont get me wrong that my hours i played here on steam are not so much...
First of all, and sadly, this Giana sisters has nearly nothing todo with the well known Giana Sisters from the C64-Era i was born in.
SO let me count up some important parts from THIS Giana Sisters...
+ Giana Sisters TD looks really good in the grafic style, i can compair it with "Trine 2" coz it looks exactly fantasic like Trine 2. Even the switch between the worlds looks great and smooth.
+ The Soundtrack is great. Lucky, the original musician from the Old C64 version, the legendary Chris hülsbeck, is also part of THIS game and creates one good half of the music for it.
- The game loses in the deepness. The Main-thing in this game is to switch between the worlds and (only) collecting the gems - nothing more. there is no beloved Ball-power-up or like. Its just jumping around and collecting the gems, sadly.
- The riddles gets quick pretty hard, even frustrating.
Even if the game self looks great and the sound is nice. Giana Sisters TD has the big lack in deepness of game play. You jump just around, collecting gems all the time. There is nothing more you can "upgrate" your skills or like...or the old Power ups like the Ball, Thunder or like. You can only Jump, spin and smash. And that over and over in Levels and Riddles which become very quickly frustrating? No thanks.
Im Sorry to say that but people who thought to buy this coz they could get some old 80s feeling or memories will get quickly disappointed. People and REAL Fans from the Giana Sisters-Series can i still say go better play the Original Giana Sisters on the C64 or the Game Boy DS version. Even if the grafic from both of them isnt even "up to date" anymore, hardcore player and lovers from the Great Giana Sisters will AND still love it like i do. Also there is this the original Legendary Soundtrack which made Giana also to a "Legend".
Giana Sisters TD may still has the soundtrack but lacks in the gameplay...sadly.
