Application Load Error after using morrowind code patch util

I am following a guild to modding skyrim and after I use the Morrowind Code Patcher, I get Application load error 5:0000065434 when launching the game. I can verify the integrity and fix it but as soon as I try to use the code patcher it happens again.

Anyone familiar with this problem? I saw some fixes for this problem but they were not related specfically to morrowind and the fix usually involved using a no-cd crack. The Code Patcher utility says that it works with steam and I see no one reporting the problem on the nexus page for it.

You use a Morrowind Code Patcher to Mod Skyrim . . . what?

Assuming you mean Morrowind: Steam and the Code Patcher do not get along very well. Try to start the game from the Morrowind.exe in your game folder.

Another suggestion would be to reinstall Morrowind outside of Program files. Steam will let you choose a folder when you install. This avoids any issues with Windows security features.

No problems using the Code patch, Exe Optimiser or any other utility with Steam. YMMV.
