The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Vote $20 too much?
I want to play it but I can't justify $20 for a last-gen game. The last one I bought was battlefront2 and it was too old to play on windows 7. I know about the mod but it's not like the people at steam made it, so how do they justify that price? Why would I chance the same fate for $20 when steam does not offer refunds for problematic games(SPORE) or a systems check(well within their ability) that warns you when people with a similiar setup are having problems with the game?! Let steam know what you think, is $20 too much for a haphazard gamble or am I just a overreacting cheap jerk?

Or... you could wait for a sale. I think I paid $6.99 for my Steam copy (though it's well worth $20). It goes on sale pretty regularly.
I agree ^ I paid 6.99, but I've also payed 20 bucks for the physical GOTY box set a few times now. Got a sealed one in the book case. If you are worried about your computer not being able to play such an old game, hold off. The game has been around long enough that people can help with most problems.

Also, steam doesn't set prices. The retail price of Morrowind is still 20 bucks. There's one sitting in my local exchange right now.
It's worth the price although I got mine when it was on sale last year. On Ebay they go for way more than $20. I paid more for the guidebook than I did the game when I got it. I haven't had any problems with the game either the PC or the original Xbox version (which I still have). Most systems today can play this game.
Your an overreacting 12 year old games still worth 60$ in my opinon the game has a ♥♥♥♥ ton of stuff to offer
Right on, you guys sold me, I'm in
Easily worth twice that if you're capable of getting past the graphics. Running it fine on win7 with the graphic overhaul and its been a welcome return!
Do yourself a favor and look up the MGSO plugins, including a complete graphics overhaul, and general quality of life upgrades. It will give the game the appearance of Skyrim.

With this game, just buy it now. You can use plugins if you want, but I don't use them. It is, in my opinion, the best Elder Scrolls game in terms of story. You're not paying for good graphics. You're paying for one of the best games ever made.
I would prefer it drop to around $12 because of the insane amount of content and the giant open-world, but yeah, the game could use a price-drop.
well worth twenty dallors, if you can get it cheaper more power to you.
the depth that morrowind offers easily justifies 20 dollars.
Yes, it is worth that much. Perhaps the real question is, "Is Skyrim really worth sixty dollars?"

So incredibly true.
In terms of "value", this is an emotional subject. The enhancements from independent modders are great but should not be considered part of the purchase price value. You can't say (well, you shouldn't say) that the game is worth $20 (or more) because the mods are great.

I also think it is fair to assess parts of the gameplay itself in terms of value when compared to similar games from 2002. The beauty and immersion of the game certainly has value, but (as I mentioned in another post) the "clunky-ness" of the animations detracts from the value IMO.
