Ok does the fact that I'm running windows 7 matter? And if so Can i use The "Microsoft Virtual PC" Application to run morrowind, and on the same note how do I install it into the virtual PC...O_O Can anyone help me?
Morrowind works with Win7. Look for a warnings.txt in your Morrowind directory. See if it gives a clue.
I would suggest collecting as much information as you can so we can have a better idea what is going wrong. Like Hahali said, look for a Warnings.txt in the morrowind folder and see if anything is there. Share what it says here if it says anything.

It might not hurt to list any other audio/video software you have installed that might be causing conflicts. Anything with codecs can cause all sorts of issues with other programs sometimes.

Also ... is there any pattern to when the game crashes/exits? Does it happen when you enter/exit a door? When you enter a new area? When you try to save or rest? When you open a dialog box with certain characters? ... or is it completely random? Does it give you an error message or just suddenly drop out to your desktop like you were not running the game at all? Is steam still running after it crashes?

More Info is needed to narrow down what the problem might be.
I am running the game on Windows 7 as well, and I don't need any compatibility settings turned on for it to run. That should not be an issue. I also don't even have a gpu/graphics card on this laptop and it still runs, so power should not be a factor either.

I had an issue with the game that turned out to be caused by the Sansa-Media-Converter software I had installed on my laptop at the time. You would not think that would matter, but it actually caused the game to lock up any time you tried to load a save file from a game in progress or tried to exit the game. Uninstalling that software fixed it immediately. It sounds like you are having a completely different issue, but that should give you an example of how many things can be a factor in your issue, which is why we need more info to help.

Did you install any mods that may be causing conflicts, or are you just trying to play vanilla (non-modded)?
Alright Here is all the information I have. The only thig in the "warnings.txt" was this:

Texture "Textures\_land_default.tga" count 3.
Texture "Textures\menu_thick_border_bottom_right_corner.dds" count 2.

The Video Software I am using is simply the control center that was installed with my drivers for the GeForce GT240. As for audio software. none. My monitor has built in speakers i just use the onboard jack and bam, no special sound card or anything. The windows 7 Ultimate I'm using is a fresh install so there arn't even any media utilities besides the one that came with windows obviously.

The Crashes are random, i haven't noticed a patern. The video gets slightly choppy right before it cuts out and Windows pops up an error that says "Morrowind has stopped working, Windows will try to resolve the problem" Steam is still running after morrowind stops completely. It has been less fequent these past few days but regardless it does still happen.

Thank you in advance, any help is appreciated.
Since Reading your message, I have noticed my game crashing at random now and then as well. I just forgot about it because I'm so used to it. It only happens to me once every 1-3+ hours, and I quicksave frequently, in addition to having 7 cycling primary save files that I save to every time I do something significant, or I know it has been a long time since I last did. It's just a good idea. I learned that back when I played it for the first time back in 2002/3 or whenever it came out (Still have the collectors edition box version, complete with Music CD, Map, figurine, etc.)

Morrowind has ALWAYS been an unstable game, even running on hardware and OS versions that it was supposedly OPTIMIZED for. Graphics and framerates will look choppy even on the most overpowered systems. Sadly, as good as the game is, the game engine is and always has been buggy.

If these crashes have been happening more frequently than once per hour, I'd keep looking for possible conflicts. However, if they are only happening once every 90 minutes or more ... it's probably just Morrowind Being Morrowind. It does that.
Thank you Vuldari, I was starting to come to that relization myself lol.
my copy of morrowind is running on windows 7, with countless other games and downloaded content running... i have always found it can be certain settings in game than can make it difficult to run. try changing your view as in the distance you can see. maybe turn off realtime shadows, run in windowed mode and see if that helps, it may help you get a little further into the game and help discover the problem. i have run the Morrowind GOTY game on many systems, and any all problems ive had come up i have been able to solve, relatively easily... let me know if any of these suggestions help, if not ill think a bit more on what else to suggest, other than that you may need to reinstall morrowind because by the look of the files that you listed they could potentially be missing... let me know :)
Did you do the patches? Morrowind code patch and Morrowind unofficial patch are both essential for a stable game.
nope neither, my copy was purchased through steam however i was using the disc copy before that, the official patch was helpful, however the unofficial one caused a multitude of problems for me,
lol, i dont need, i have no problems with my morrowind, even have it modded a bit. i have a few personal faves, but i see no need to use the unofficial patch
