there would not be a difference. Any more information on the issue? I'm sure there are people on this forum that could help :)

There's no difference. However, it should not crash even in an unpatched state. Use the patches though, they contain important fixes.

1. Install Morrowind
2. Install Tribunal
3. Install Bloodmoon
4. Install latest Bloodmoon patch
5. Play

If it still crashes, there must be some compatibility problems with your computer. You never mentioned what kind of video card you have, though it's important.

If you have installed it to ""Programfiles"" then try to run it as Administrator.

Win 7 is very keen on the folder "Programfiles" and many games is better installed outside of it :)

Playing on Wind 7 64bit with MGSO 3.0 patch perfectly fine. The occasional error message here and there (lamp mod bug), but nothing really obviously game breaking yet.

I play on Windows XP with the retail version (Game Of The Year Edition, all Expansion packs installed correctly), so I don't know if this will help anyone, but the only issue is have is that the game will lag a little, sound funny, and crash unless I disable hardware acceleration.
Hardware is under Control Panel->Sounds, Speech, and Audio devices->Sounds and Audio devices->Speaker Settings, Advanced->Performance, and then there is a slider called Hardware acceleration.
Turning it all the way down will stop it from crashing frequently on my computer, (it will still rarely crash) but this causes problems with other games, so I have to turn it back up. I learned this tip from the ReadMe under Technical support in the launcher.

your running an intel HD GPU? well that might be your problem also from what i know the intel HD line isnt the best onboard GPU, but i can only assume you must be using at least an HD 2000 which is the first gen of the HD line
