The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Should I get Morrowind?
I have completed 100% Oblivion and am currently playing Skyrim (although I prefered Oblivion, maybe it's just my nostalgia). Should I spend the 20$ on Morrowind? If I do, what mods should I get to completely enhance my experience playing this game..

Morrowind is by far the best. As for mods, I cant really think of any.

If you got the power get Morrowind Overhaul. Pretty much all you need.

There are some questions that shouldn't ever need to be asked. This is one of them.

SPOILER: The answer is YES.

The only thing that's holding me back is the combat, is seems very clunky..

Aha, you're quite right, but once you get used to it it's not so bad. It functions based on rolls of dice, and whether or not you land a hit and how much damage is done is based on your skill levels with certain weapons etc. It's not like Oblivion or Skyrim where contact with the enemy denotes a hit and skills only affect the amount of damage done. To be honest, when you're actually playing it, it's not even that noticably different from the later games, but for the first few hours in the game you might spend a lot of time swinging at enemies to no avail. You are right, though, it isn't as refined as combat in Oblivion or Skyrim, and it is one of the weaker (not weak, just weaker compared to some of the more outstanding stuff) aspects of the game, but on the other hand, it makes levelling up more rewarding. Nothing like the satisfaction of working hard and getting to the point where you can one-hit almost any enemy.
Get it. Its the best in the series. :D

Shame on you you should have been had Morrowind. I play it everyday without mods. I know where to go to get a 48000 weapon as soon as I get off the ship to buy whatever I need. It is slower than Skyrim, but much more enjoyable. I haven't really played it with mods, but the Nexus has some great mods for it.

Ok here is the way I see it. Skyrim is the dominant elderscrolls in spoiling the consumer. The game is very easy on the easiest difficulty and escalated to normal mode on hard and then turmoil and the top difficulty. This can apply for all elderscrolls games except morrowind. Of course it will be easy on the lowest setting but try playing on a tad notch up from normal. However the game is not INTIMIDATINGLY hard and is easily the best elder scrolls game out there. So if you are looking for a challenge and amazing experience give this game a shot. The game really relies on using your skills aswell, so make sure you focus on leveling the right ones up. (by right ones I mean the major skills in referance to the class you have chosen or made.)

The game is great and if you can afford the $20 by all means buy it as it IS the best TES game in every way except combat and graphics. Otherwise, you could probably wait for the game to go on sale if you are patient. The TES games regularly go on sale a couple of times a year for at least 50% sometimes more. For sure the game will be on sale during the Summer Sale this year if you can wait that long.

i just got it a couple hours ago. i would say get it if you have not yet. the combat is a little slow in the start but once you have gotten a little into it you will not miss as much.
