light/medium/heavy
So, I am very new to morrowind (fiddled around with it awhile back, but I'm planning on playing it through now), and I'm curious as to not necessarily the 'best' armor, but the pros and cons of each. I was plannign on playing a spellsword, with points in destruction/alteration and longswords. I used medium armor on this guy, as I thought it would be a nice balance between ligt and heavy. If this is not the case, is it still worth using medium armor?

Light Armor maxed out with the best gear in the game has a higher armor rating than Medium Armor. For that reason it's usually best to pick either Light or Heavy but it's really upto which you think looks best. The games more than possible with most armor choices.

Excellent, thanks. I didn't particularly want to restart. I shall continue to fight of those bloody cliffracers.

Tribunal adds better medium armor, so no reason to avoid it. In summary:

* Light armor is the lightest (duh). If you're not planning on increasing strength, then this is good one to pick.

* Medium and Heavy are both good for improving Endurance, which gives you more health. Only other Endurance skill is Spear, so if you want to be a bag of hit points and aren't using spear, then take either medium or heavy.

* The best Heavy armors weigh a TON. Ebony is still manageable, but Daedric is so heavy you either need to be a weight lifter, or enchant them with a feather spell.

* Most medium armor types are incomplete sets. The best full set is Orcish.

* Best Light rating: Glass armor (50)
* Best Medium rating: Adamantium (79)
* Best Heavy rating: Daedric (80)

If I were playing a warrior type, I would be picking medium armor. If I did not have Tribunal then I would go with heavy armor.
