This is what happens when developers randomly listens to bad feedback.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

First of all: Please do not duplicate post. You have already been reported by other community members.

You have complained about slow and problematic networks before, and that your network connection had been dropping. This can be the cause of your ban. Please read this article for tips to improve your connection.

What is a rage quit?

If your kofxiii.exe is closed at any time between accepting a match in a lobby and the results screen (via ALT+F4, clicking the close button, or even a crash), this will count as a rage quit. Also, if your internet connection is cut between accepting a match in a lobby and the results screen, it will also count as a rage quit.

Syncronization issues do not result in a rage quit.

Will you regain access to online play?

Yes. The ban can last anywhere between 1-7 days, depending on the frequency of rage quits.

thank you! can you tell me how can I do? email some one? or steam support? I email 3 times to
support, but no reply! just system automatically replies email to me!
I'd say your best bet is to just wait for the ban to end. Steam bans aren't usually lifted.

Hi 9Ghost,

There is no need to email support or anything. I'm right here, I have read your posts and responded. I am an SNK Playmore programmer who worked on this game.

I have explained the causes: it can be rage quit, or internet troubles. If your opponent has a poor internet connection, you will not be penalized. However, if your internet connection cuts out completely, you may be penalized. If you quit the game during an online match, you will be penalized.

If you find yourself banned, the only thing you can do is check back every day and see if it has been lifted.

Also:
- Users cannot report you and ban you in-game. The game does *not* take user feedback into account when applying temporary bans (ie. there is no Malicious Reporting system).
- The game had not been updated in January 2014, or February 2014 - the game has not changed.

Thanks,

Jace

Jace:

Well, I got banned 4 days ago for actually ragequitting. Didn't know it was even a thing. Had to google it then realized "Oh ok...well let's not do that again". No problem.

I got banned 2 days ago for Alt-F4ing at the Results screen. (not cool, I wasn't even angry, I just had to go. I said "Aight man, I'm done". He said "Ok man, ggs".

Why program it to be effective at that point? At the Results Screen? I mean, if you meant that it's effective "until" the results screen then no...I absolutely did not hit f4 before then, and something is wrong. Anyway it was up the next day, so w/e. Lesson learned. Just exit out normally, always.

Today I was banned because the game was completely stuck Syncronizing for a good 5 minutes. I was in a hella good mood, nowhere near rage quiting.

The guy I was playing with actually sent me another invite once my steam logged back in. I said "Man, I'm still stuck at Syncronizing and I'm afraid to hit Alt-f4 and get banned again". He says "Just hit alt-f4". I thought...ok...surely it knows I'm not in game anymore. I hit alt f4, accept his invite, and I'm banned AGAIN.

This is your own quote:

"However, if your internet connection cuts out completely, you may be penalized. ."

You honestly don't think being penalized for having your connection cut out is a problem? I'm not trying to be argumentative but that just blows my mind. I feel really disrespected being banned for no good reason.

How would you figure out the difference between someone pulling out their ethernet cable (YES, PEOPLE ACTUALLY DO THIS) and losing connection due to hiccup from ISP or etc? I don't think server side logic can be stretched that far.

I have never been banned even though I have to Alt+F4 from the sync loop every now and then. As far as I know, the system does look into your past ban history, meaning that if you have been banned for rage quitting, you will get slapped with the ban more easily in the future and if I understood correct, you do have "legit bans" in your record already.

Even though the system should not be effective when you both have landed on the results screen, it's never a smart move to force close the game when online.

Personally, I think the whole rage quitting system should only apply to ranked matches. Because who cares if someone rage quits out of a player match?

This guy knows I didn't rage quit, it happened while we were playing.

@Miggoh I have ONE legit ragequit ban. Didn't know it existed. Honestly, how you figure out whether someone pulled a plug, or even comes on here lying about whether or not they actually rage quit is NOT MY PROBLEM.

The PROBLEM is that it IS banning people for getting DCed. "That" is a programming problem. If you absolutely "can't" get it to only ban legit ragequitters, then it SHOULDN'T be in the game.

Also I agree with AirLancer....who cares? On Skullgirls there was a guy who'd RQ right before the last hit of his death. If I'm not mistaken, you didn't even get credit for the win. That's definately an issue. I'm not sure how it works on KoF (probably about the same), but it should only be an issue in ranked.

I dont' even care, all I know is I've been banned twice and I didn't ragequit. This time was with AirLancer, and he knows. Last time it was Cammy18 and he knows I didn't RQ either. I said I was done AFTER the match and left.

I'm TRYING to learn this game. It's not easy for VARIOUS reasons, and being banned constantly, now that I have a "record" as you say, is making it even tougher.

Sure, I'm going to be a lot more careful in the future with how I exit the game, but what about when It just DCes on me? Sometimes it's not even the internet, I have good internet and I only play 3-4 bars - sometimes Steam just likes to go crazy. I'm gonna get banned if some ♥♥♥♥♥ decides to DDos Steam now?

*Oh yeah, my LEGIT ban was against Coffeewielder, and he's on my friends list. He didn't care. Actually, that's how he ended up on my list. I added him and was like "Sorry man, I was about to attack my monitor with my joystick". lols were had.

No, the system can tell the difference between losing connection due to Steamworks' not syncing properly and people disconnecting because of forcing the program to close or losing connection to internet.
