stuck at obtaining opponent information

i just got kof 13 on steam,it works perfect offline,but its not connecting online,it gets stuck at obtaining opponent information for ages and then loses connectivity,is their any solution to this?

Connection problems can have many factors on them.
Have you checked the KOF network guide in this very same forum?

yeah i have checked them all,all ports are opened,i connect to my isp through vpn though,i guess thats the problem.

My friend has the same problem. He tried all the suggestion from the network guide, forums, all sorts of guides on internet, asked some kof players about it, but nothing helped. It's funny how this only happens in KOF XIII. Other games work normally online and even other fighters like SSF IV and MK9 work fine too, it's just the problem with KOF.

I also connect to my isp through vpn and get the exact same problem. Did everything from the guide and contacted support some time ago but they did absolutely nothing.

VPN probably has some protocol that limits P2P connections. If the administrator is using IPSec or L2TP protocol on the VPN, it won't work correctly with NAT.

Is the VPN server yours or is it hosted by someone else? Do you have access to the settings?

You can try configuring your modem for DMZ if it just doesn't want to work otherwise. Make sure you have a working firewall.
