Why not? I don't want heal grenades/classes like Killing Floor or Planetside 2, but could be fun to have one piece of equipment act as a close range heal for others.
I was Corpsman for 5 years...medics exists in 'realistic shooters'

This is what I was looking for. http://steamcommunity.com/app/222880/discussions/3/558746089866130357/#c558746089866469557

Medic does not fit into the gameplay.

while I agree with you that they exist in real life and they're ok in other games. to me the game is fine as it is. a healing mechanic is not needed IMHO.

Honestly, other than some player model changes, bug/crash fixes, this game is 100% done as far as the core mechanics and gameplay.

but people are free to suggest all sorts of stuff if they want. :)

A healing mechanic could be useful and extend gameplay when used right. Imagine a simple healing 'syringe' (worth 1 supply) that can be obtained, by any class, when reaching a certain point threshold in long game modes.

Americas Army has a revive feature, and it is really annoying. I dont want to take someone down, just to have him get back up and rush me with a freind.

This.

People would leave medic as last choice and for a reason. You would have to take a hit to have some med thingy, and would end up with worse equipment. In the meantime, you would have an added benefit of trying to heal everyone that lives - because you don't know who was hit - or crying above a corpse of a killed comrade until you yourself get shot in the head.

There would be also an option of "healing" a guy that gets sniped 5s later. Or both of you explode in some freakish RPG accident, while RPG driver runs from the scene.

All in all, healing a guy that can very, very easily die to one bullet (out of approx. 100 00 shot from nearby building) is kinda waste of time and definitely does not feel fulfilling. I get it in real life every life is precious and every soldier important (until there's an evac order), but this is not real life. No matter how much you try, you ain't gonna implement the care for one's and other's life in a video game.

Welp, I'm obviously getting shut down here (while taking over sweeper1975(GER)'s thread).

I don't want a healing class/loadout. I'm with you (everyone) on that. But I do think something simple, like I stated before, could work. I know that NWI wants to avoid the CoD/CS thing with quick/thoughtless rounds, but it's happening already.

Why not have a tiny addition like a syringe so shake up gameplay and extend a round?

OPPOSED as it would not be true to life for the insurgents.

If we're talking about real life, insurgents/militants would be without a medic. The Taliban in Afghanistan and in the north-western border regions of Pakistan operate without on-field medics. This includes militant groups, sectarian groups, and some terrorist groups in Iraq, North Africa, eastern Iran and those in Central Asia and western China.

It will be unrealistic for the insurgents to have a medic class, though I agree that it makes sense for the opposing force.

WHY NOT? Thanks for showing your respect for those who actually gave their lives to save others in a time of war but...that aspect doesn't belong in video games? Everyone wants to create/play a realistic shooters but always ignore the healing aspect.

smh

Not everyone wants to shoot people in the face when they play FPS games...

The ♥♥♥♥ you're talking about?

If you suggest you can replicate the very same care for your own life and life of your brothers in arms that a real war can, you're the one being disrespectful and stupid.

It's like saying to your girlfriend: "pregnancy is so tough? Don't think so, I was through it! I played it in a video game!", just much, much worse. And try to tell that to your girl if you want to know how bad it is.

I'm not suggesting they replicate the same care lol. Did you read my other posts in this thread?
