Crashing? Read Here
We are working hard to solve the stability issues for everyone. Of course, this being a PC game, there are so many variables and factors among the different types of hardware, drivers, and in game code.

Please be patient with us - the majority of players are not experiencing these issues, so it makes it more difficult to figure out the cause.

1. Check your specs.
Ensure your computer meets the system requirements.

2. Make sure you're up to date.
Update the drivers for your graphics card and chipset. Make sure Windows Update is receiving updates and is patched up. Verify the integrity of your game by right clicking Insurgency in Steam, Properties, Local Files, Verify integrity of game cache.

3. Check your anti-virus.
Make sure your anti-virus program is not blocking insurgency.exe. If it is, make sure to have your anti-virus bypass our application, and while you're at it email them and ask them why they are flagging our software.

4. Optimize your game settings.
If you are using Surround Sound audio in the game and crash when explosions go off near you, try setting your audio settings to 2 Speakers and see if it stops your crashing.

If you are crashing randomly or when under fire, try lowering your graphics settings, including those under Advanced Video (effects detail, shader detail, texture detail, etc.). If that doesn't work, try adjusting your screen resolution to a lower one than you are trying to use, this may need to be less than native.

If you are crashing when alt+tabbing, try running your game in a borderless window.

5. Try doing without the Steam Overlay.
Try disabling the Steam overlay for in game by un-checking the option "Enable Steam Community In-Game" in Insurgency Game Properties (right click -> properties from Steam Library).

6. Check the Pre-Requisites.
Insurgency should install the DirectX and Visual C++ 2010 redistributables. If something went wrong with this, it could cause problems if you don't have it installed already. You can find them here: DirectX runtime[www.microsoft.com], Visual C++ 2010 runtime[www.microsoft.com].

7. Check your processes.
If it's definitely not your anti-virus, it could be other third party software disrupting the game. Try disabling any background software that may interfere with the game such as Overwolf, Raptr, Xfire, Mumble's overlay or Shadowplay. FRAPS is a known program to crash the game.

8. Work with us.
If you manage to solve the crashing issue with any of the steps above, please post here exactly what worked so others may try.

If your crashing persists, please upload your crash dump file from the directory:

C:/Program Files/Steam/dumps

to our Forum thread, along with the specs of your computer.

We truly want to solve these problems for everyone. It's not fun crashing, as we know from personal experience as well. We are a tiny team by comparison of some other AAA games.

That's a known bug with co-op.

My game crashes every time just before connection if I try to connect using the 'Find Game' option. However if I use the server browser to connect to a game it works just fine without any crashes.

You may know this already, but some, if not most, antivirus programs automatically put an exeption on Insurgency.exe (3 of mine did so)

More than one grenade going off near me causes me to crash

We discovered some caching issues with our Linux-based servers, and once they have been restarted, it solves the crashes while trying to connect. So if you've been experienced that issue, please try to connect once again to any NWI server and let us know if the issue persists.

And what about the status of the people who expierence the explosion&random crashes?

I got a few CTDs when opening the load-out menu, squad menu and switch team menu. All sporadic, it hasn't plagued me since the first day. Very strange.

Did you try lowering your effects detail?

Follow the steps outlined in the OP. Especially try lowering your effects settings.

Zbra, this game is using the latest version of Source, which is a lot more intensive than the old Source engine.

my game crash when server change level..sometime its freeze in game

Please be sure to try -windowed -noborder on your launch options.

@Zbra - are these coop crashes you are experiencing? The coop crashes are different than this issue but are being addressed as well. That is a linux server issue, where as the client crashes may be minimized with the above solutions.
