For Napoleon: Total War, I believe the Mac version came out the other month, and the game was originally release multiple years ago.
This is however, I imagine a worse case scenario. Granted, it's a different developer, different studio.
It's just one of those things, it might be tomorrow, it might be next year. I have doubts as to it being during the summer sale however, as there is usually no new releases for the duration. Mac re-releases might not count, however.
Again, I feel your pain, I hate waiting for things, but there is nothing to be done but wait.
Final note, I am unsure on the details, legality or possibility of this, but is it not possible to run Windows programmes on Mac through a programme named Wine? It might be Linux I'm thinking of, but it's worth looking into, and possibly testing with steam, and a game you already own. More risky, but, could work for the short term. Again, do the research, I wont be held responsible for anything bad happening I'm afraid :)
2) Install a copy of Windows
3) Buy Wargame
4) Play and cease complaining about not being able to solve simple problems.
Just like Linux gamers, OSX ones have to deal with being a minority if they wish to use their OS of choice. Such is life for anyone of a minority userbase.
Woo, help the brotherhood!!!
I can understand the frustration. It would be nice if we could at least get an update on how things are going, or have somebody tell us if they are planning on having it out in the near future or not so we don't have to keep checking every other week and be disappointed at each occasion.
For me, the biggest concern is that there isn't any clear communication coming from Eugene (if there is, please forgive me, but I have not found it). I just bought the EE + AB summer deal, and I'm new to the game. I was going to wait for the game to come out in Mac, and have been waiting for a while now, checking in here and there to see how it stands, and the only reason I got it is because of the summer deal, so now I'm just happy I can play EE. However, that's not the normal circumstance, and I will eventually grow tired of it, so if I have to wait for 6+ months to get a port for a game that I purchased under the impression that they are really working hard to get out for Mac, I will certainly be quite disappointed.
Oh noes! You'll lose one sale if you don't drop everything your doing, Eugune, and port that ish NAO!!
On another note, you could have probably custom-built two PCs for the same price as your Mac, and been playing games on one and running VirtualBox on the other if you really need Mac OS for things. You could then upgrade each, component-by-component, as new hardware tech releases over the years, instead of having to throw the whole integrated piece of junk in the trash (or sell to a noob on CL) and buy a new one.
Mac users...when will they learn?
Jokes aside, I used to have a Mac when I was kid. When I got heavier into gaming, I realized that Mac was NOT the platform to be using. So, I built my first PC when I was 14, about 16 years ago, and have been doing the same ever since. I have also come to the realization that smartphones aren't really a gaming platform either. Sure, there are some games on Mac and smartphones - but they're either released late (90% of people have PCs vs. Macs), or are watered down versions of the PC game (mostly smartphone games). Either way, if you are serious about gaming, do yourself a favor and build/buy a PC. It costs about as much as a game console if you know what you're doing and don't need the bleeding-edge tech.
What do you mean "Mac users... when will they learn." Macs are better for just about everything except gaming. Why would I get a computer solely to game if im not a huge gamer. I got my mac and im happy with it. If I had to go back, I would probably still get a mac. All we are saying is that if a game can be easily ported to mac, then why not do it.
