What smaller military nation would you recommend?
I am looking to play any nation deck besides US/USSR/France/Germany (the nato Germany), as i find them too casual/boring/powerful and want to use something which is not widely used. I am new to ALB, but played EE a bit.

I've started with SWE because of those 60 and 80 cost tanks, but i ended up using a lot of infantry for their 35 cost IFV's which have beastly autocannon. I do not like their recon options though.

I can (and will) dig the armory myself but i want to see the other player's perspective about their nation deck which they enjoy. So please feel free to share your opinion on any nation you play, preferrably with good recon units.

Ive been having fun with Sweden and Canada lately, all of the Pact minors have strong suits.

What about Canada, do their prototypes pay off or you can use it with 75 or 80 category?

Infantry, grizzlies, cougars, chimeras, F-18 variants, adats that is capable of killing tanks, helicopters, and aircraft.

I will recommend Czechoslovakia- good units of all type. But iam Czech so i also like the voice acting- is really funny and unusual in games to hear for such minor language. So yeah iam maybe not objective at all:-D

Any minor faction, actually. All PACT minors have things going for him and if you want some real challenge - play Denmark/Norway.
You can also try different settings and bonuses for major decks. USA Marine deck, for example, is quite an interesting option and I find it really strong if you can make it work.

Besides, you can always try and make an idiotic derp-deck and try playing with it. Might be pretty fun too.

If you played EE, why don't you custom your deck? That's how it used to be... Personally thats what I did the first time i played, since I had 100h of EE. I agree that playing with the nation decks is fun from times to times but I strongly recommend that you make your own, unless you like to stick with prototypes. And even if you do, you can custom your own nation deck too...

I agree. Even if you have to invest a lot of points for a decent canadian plane, their ground forces are more then capable (except infantry). My jaw litteraly dropped when i saw the ADATS :O

Pact germany also has a very nice air superiority plane. Those long range high accuracy f&f missiles are very nice for sniping enemy planes with.
I like pretty much every nation: Canada has average infantry but you can mount EVERYTHING in choppers (meaning you can use them in conquest to rapidly capture territory with not only elites or line infantry, but also with MANPADS and ATGM inf) Sweden has awesome defensive tanks, infantry and good AA. West germany has great tanks. Czechs are great all around. And the list goes on.

The only nations which I don't like are norway and denmark, too limited.

I have not yet tried out Canada; for the most part I have made use of the pact minors and of them the GDR are most certainly the hardest to make use of.

So far as NATO minors go I have to disagree with comments about Norway. I was rather surprised myself but I had ended up with a hell of a lot of great infantry in the NM135 and they can kick some serious ♥♥♥; the leopard's may not be the heaviest armour around but used wisely they are a perfectly capable tank, especially when backed up by Norways ATGM vehicles. Anti-air wise they are fairly strong and on the air-power side the Freedom fighter has proved to be an excellent ground attack option.

On paper a lot of the minors are weak, but often it comes down to how you use them; Canada has always seemed the most vulnerable but again, it may all come down to how you use the deck.
