Best way is to blow it up.

I prefer the F18 Hornet. Otherwise its pretty simple, though hard. ATGM, if possible in an Ambush, so he can't drive back and repair. So let him come closer than usual. Its sides and back are much weaker armoured. Well, that's all pretty simple stuff. Nothing magical.

Seriously, though, Hellfires and Tow-2 can do the trick. Super Ettendards and Maverick-armed assault planes are built exactly for stuff like this and ones I had my Highlanders flanking and killing 2 T-80U and some expensive T-64 simply because Eryx is cool like that.

Aircraft and helicopters hard-counter tanks. It'll be pretty tough to take it on with ground units unless you mass, and infantry will normally be outranged/shocked by tanks.

Are you fighting the AI or a human player?
I know the AI spams T-80s like no other. But since you can only make a handful of T-80Us, it might be worth it to run some planes at them.

M1A1s can kill a T-80 in one shot from the side or behind. If possible, slide your Abrams around and flank them. An A-10 can take it out easily as well. Don't sweat if you see it in battle. It's relatively easy to take out. If you can get it to stop moving you've won half the battle.

Killed a T-80U just like that with Highlanders the other day, actually. Those Eryx tho

When I have the T-80U I find the AT helicopters and AT infantry are the worst enemy for it.
