if new new, in other words did not play WEE. then play the campaign. play some skirmishes. play the traning. then create a game and title it noobs only. it is not starcraft, bring a ocmbined force. do not throw points at your enemy try smaller games with less units and try and keep them alive. learn your counters. and go on youtube to watch the vids put up by raptor, atila16, rangroo, vulcan, and tmc. glhf it is a great game and a great community.
Play skirmish against the AI so you learn the units (the campaign is very confusing, I wouldn't use it to try and learn how to play online). Quick tips:

1 - Bring plenty of AA. Learn how to set up an effective AA network (combine radar and infared, vehicles and hand held AA). Bring enough AA until you think you have enough, then bring more.

2 - Be very cautious using airplanes until you get some experience. These are generally high value units and you will lose them easily while learning the game. Start with cheapo planes that you don't mind using. Exception: the F-117. An expensive plane that is very noob friendly. Drops a devastating bomb and is hard to hit. Use it to hit front lines (don't think it will survive going deep into enemy territory, it won't).

3 - Turtle up. Don't be afraid to play defense as you learn the game. Stick infantry and ATGM's in defensible positions like forests and cities, then back them up with AA and some armor in the rear for a counterattack. You will score plenty of points repelling enemy attacks.

4 - LEARN THE UNITS. Knowing what units can do what, strengths/weaknesses, is a huge part of the game. Study the units in the shop when you are building your decks (which is half the fun).
Know the difference between conquest and destruction and how to win each mode. Don't get frustrated either, the games hard but loads of fun. Also, noob only rooms is a really good idea, some people are terrible to new players sadly, but if you can find some newer players to learn the basics with it'll help, same with some tolerant veterans who are willing to show you the ropes. Good luck and have fun with the game.
