The point is to shoot at radar-guided AA, even if they're not visible.

lot of guys do spam SEAD, but it es easy to counter place Infrared AA Strelas / Iglas in front, then behind it the Radar AA, i normally spam mass AA, to make every bomb rum 100% plane kill

enhance bombers do theire success and suvival rate, while sead plane itself usually meet aa doom

think diffrently like.. its not for hunt down rad sam, but bomber escort from aa and aaa.

which had more than very good ecm aircraft could do that even with airsuperioty fighter, but seadaircraft, its point forward for anti rad and ecm with cost effective way.

You just went full retard. Never go full retard. SEADs can go horribly wrong, yes - but they can also be the worthiest planes in your arsenal. Last night I had a guy who had absolutely no clue about SEADs and how to counter them. I spammed SEADs all the time and won the (12500?) game as the best player with 7000 points, while everyone else was somewhere around up to 3000. In smaller battles it can be even be better.

If you micro SEAD correctly you should never lose the plane. Jaguars and Ravens outrange all ground AA so you should be able to keep it out of the AA bubble and pick off radar units. Used over an entire game 2 jaguars can cause quite a lot of damage, and you wear down the enemy AA net though attrition. Points spent to replace lost AA units are not spent on tanks and helicopters, which in turn allows you to get more units on the field and gain an advantage.

I don't fine myself using SEAD to often, i actually prefer to use cheap, dumb bombers.

As im doing bombing runs on other targets, i watch to see where the AA fire is coming from, and then i target position that area with a cheap 35 point bomber. I usually send in quite a few planes at once, which can help to overrun the enemy AA with multiple targets.

The benefit to this is that you can hit radar AA even if the radar is off, you can take out AAA, and infared AA as well. Unlike SEAD which can only get active radar AA. You can also get about 4 of these planes compared to just one SEAD. However, you are exposing your planes to more fire then you would a SEAD plane, and if something goes wrong you may lose 5 planes compared to just 1...

SEAD missiles lock onto and home in on radar signals.

ECM makes an enemy radar see several aircraft that are not there aswell as the real aircraft.
A SEAD plane with bad ECM can be suicide.

ECM also works aginst air launched radar guided missiles.

Some aircraft in real life are fitted for SEAD missions. These are sometimes old aircraft that are not a big loss if they are shot down. But some countries use their best strike aircraft for SEAD.

Some aircraft are re designed to be very good at SEAD these are the ones that normally have very good ECM.

I'm in so many battles where I see team mates loosing so many bombers to radar SAMs that nowadays I send in SEAD the Mig 25 SEAD is the best SEAD for PACT. Just don't over fly the front line with them and don''t loiter, recon the area first.

Don't use SEAD against saclos and infrared anti air ground units. Use artillary on these. If they have no radar or their radar is off the SEAD missiles can't lock them.
