But to update everyone else:
There currently is no built in function to use a QWERTY keyboard to send MIDI data to your tracks. To perform a virtual instrument, you would either need to enter the data in the Piano Roll View, Staff View, or perform it with an external MIDI Controller.
There are some freeware plug-ins that allow you to use your QWERTY keyboard to enter MIDI data, but getting these to work properly is hit or miss and the setup is semi-complicated if you've never used virtual MIDI ports before.
An example of a freeware plug-in that does this would be something such as Axxeom Trollo, which translates QWERTY messages into MIDI messages. See: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/258.html
I haven't personally used Trollo, but you could combine something like this with MIDI Yoke (see http://www.midiox.com/). Basically you would want to route the output of the instrument (in this case Trollo) to a virtual MIDI driver using MIDI Yoke. Afterwards you would want to route the input of your track in Music Creator 6 Touch to that same virtual MIDI driver.
I hope this points you in the right direction. I haven't set things up via this method in a while, but I have done it in the past.
ok I see thanks for replying :D hope this QWERTY to MIDI function would be added someday in offical update :)
First, it seems that Trollo is not supported anymore (the manufacturer has marked it as "no longer available.") And then, it seems that MIDI Yoke won't work under my operating system - I have Windows 7 and I just kept gettting installation error messages.
After some research I found other software options that would make this work.
First, there's VMPK, a free, open source MIDI event generator than can capture the keystrokes from your regular computer keyboard and translate them into MIDI notes. VMPK link[vmpk.sourceforge.net]
Then, as Ryan already mentioned, you need to reroute the output of your keyboard as MIDI input for Music Creator. loopMIDI seems to work great under Windows 7 and is quite easy to configure. loopMIDI link[www.tobias-erichsen.de]
At this point, just run all three programs, create a new MIDI port in loopMIDI, configure it as the output of VMPK, and as the imput of Cakewalk Music Creator 6 Touch, and you are ready to go.
There are more installation and configuration details about this whole procedure in this article[trebleclick.blogspot.com]. A computer keyboard cannot replace a real music keyboard, but it is good for quick music testing on the go.
I hope that helps! ;-)
