Music Creator 6 Touch

Music Creator 6 Touch

[Replied] Any additional DRM or USB License Managment needed?
I'm curious if this one has any additional requirements for registration / activation or any other kind of additional DRM besides steam. Have only bought benchmark software here on steam, so no experience with this kind of purchases.

There is no additional DRM needed besides purchasing it through Steam.

Nice to see Cakewalk expanding into digital stores like steam. I look forward to when more of your advance software DAW's make it way over to steam. Good luck and hope it proves worthwhile.

Heck, I'm impressed at seeing reps from CW here on steam answering questions, and doing so quickly. That is very, very pro. Added it to the wishlist, and I'll probably grab it over the weekend.

Thanks JasonMurphy! A lot of us here at Cakewalk are avid Steam users and are super excited about joining this community with our own product.

I just received my 8th year of service badge :)
Congrats man, glad to hear it. I know CW has been around FOREVER... one of the first MIDI programs from back in the day, and still going strong :) As a person that uses alot of physical music devices versus pure software mixing, I can say that I am so glad that CW is still around and churning out MIDI goodies to play with these days.
It's so cool to see music software on steam! I have a question though: do I need to run the app via steam or I can run it as standalone app at any time without internet?

Hi Patrick,

You'll want to launch Music Creator 6 Touch once while you're online. After that point you can run Steam in 'offline mode' and enjoy MC6T with full functionality.

Dying to try this. Im a HEAVY Audition user (work/fun) and Im always looking out for the next upgrade. This almost appears to be a MAGIX MM with Audition and SoundForge thrown in.

I might sound silly but is there a demo coming?

I really hope they consider making one as a result of the discussion linked above.

We are definitely listening to the community but can't confirm anything at this time.

We're just barely over 24 hours into this ;)

Thanks for the response Seth.
Just a follow up question (aka incentive for me to purchase),

"What kind of restoration filtering is available in MC6"?

I currently use IZOtope RX (http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/rx/index.asp?hs13) and have found it to be a wonderful workhorse but personally wanted something with this level of filtering within "1 program". There's alot of unnecessary saving and loss of quality (unless I do everything via .wav/FLAC) going in between 2-3 programs.

i was mainly curious (I know VST can be added, I read that) if MC6 will have multiple filters tonal and noise based?

Hi u.S. Ag3NT,

Izotope RX and Music Creator 6 Touch are two different types of applications. Music Creator will allow you to record audio, record and sequence MIDI, and perform basic audio mixing for release. You can make things sound better than how they were originally recorded but you'll need some mixing knowledge.

RX on the other hand is a dedicated audio file restoration tool. I would use this to process recordings separately or if I was trying to remix old recordings before a final Mix. There are actually a lot of users of Cakewalk software who have RX in their bag of tricks.

I went ahead and published a guide for the community here:

Following these steps will add RX to MC6T.

Since Steam is account-based, I assume it's OK to install MC6 Touch onto a couple of computers? It would be pretty cool to have it on both my desktop and notebook. :)
