RoA.exe has stopped working, please help!

so I just got this game and well as I try to boot it up it just tells me that RoA.exe has stopped working, tell me, what to do?

Reply: Maybe you have to purchase it. Go to your libary click on Rock of Ages and click Purchase. Then you might know what to do. It happend to me also.

well my friend gifted it to me and it doesn't just work!

Did you guys skip any of the installation steps on startup? Do you have ATI cards?

I tried alot of things and managed to get it working, but the thing that helped the most was uninstalling PhysX and installing the prerequisite version in the steam folder [(Windows 7) Computer>C:>Program Files (x86)>Steam>SteamApps>Common>Rock of Ages>Prerequsites>PhysX]. But you have to uninstall the other version first or it will give you a message saying newer version installed closing program or somthing like that.

Hello, I realize this thread has been dead for about half a year but I just wanted to let others know what SeriousRaptor said works. I uninstalled my current Nvidia PhysX and installed the one that came with Rock of Ages and it worked. I had previously tried every other solution I could find and to no avail, but this worked. Thanks a lot SeriousRaptor, I was getting so frustrated.
