Yes, but with reservation. The plot and dialog are bizarre, and the combat is absurdly hard. If you can get past those, it's a pretty surreal, immersive game with some really visceral combat.

will there even be one?

It's in development!: www.zenoclash2.com
Oh, and we won't make the combat so hard this time. :-)

I would. The first one was quite good.

Sure I'll buy it on release!

If they push dlcs and throw some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ next-gen ♥♥♥♥ like making every god damn game a rpg by force, distracting from everything that made the original a good game, I will pass.

didn't enjoy the game actually. The combat is hard, and extremelly bizarre scenario and story.

would take it off from my library if i could.

I have a huge problem with a framerate.
I've just bought the game, but it runs so slow, that it's impossible to play. I'm using Win7 64 bit with 2,5 GHz Core i5 processor, GeForce 630M and 4GB of RAM memory. All other Source games I have (HL2, Portal, Dark Messiah) run fine. Any solution?

We have no plans of 'pushing' paid DLC. We've never charged for any additional content we've made for any of our games (both which received several free updates many months after being released ...new game modes, levels, etc). Zeno Clash 2 will surely get free content after release, same as Zeno Clash 1 did and Rock of Ages continues to do.

There are some light RPG aspects in the game, (which is a thing that was popular demand from many people who played the first), but the RPG elements will be more on the line of an action-adventure and the game's core will definitely remain in the melee combat mechanics and surreal story/world. Think on the line of "RPGiness" of the Zelda games. The big change with the first will be the exploration aspects of the game (I don't think you will complain if the world is larger).

It might be a multi-core issue. You can read a similar issue here:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2026155

A person seems to have found the solution in an old thread... hope it works:

---------------------

"I had the same problem as other people in this thread - Zeno Clash beggins to stutter, sound also stutters, and after few seconds all textures are messed up and the game crashes afterwards. I basically was not able to play the game. I had the same problems with Left 4 Dead, and I fixed it by turning off Multicore option. Problem is, there is no such option in Zeno Clash.

SO, I have found a console command that turns off multicore option and fixes the stuttering and crashes.

What you need to do:

- First, enable the console in Zeno Clash. To do this, right click your Zeno Clash icon in "My Games" in Steam, click Properties, then "Set Launch options..." and write "-console".
- Start the game and load your save.
- Press ~ on the keyboard to open the console and then write "mat_queue_mode 0" in the console. Press enter.

And that's basically it. I had constant crashes and stuttering, but this console command resolved all my problems. I didn't lose any FPS either. It really works.

PS. Oh, and you have to use this console command everytime you start the game."

I've tried that, but it makes no difference. Game still stutters as hell. Still thanks for advice.

To me this is one of the most wonderful games ever. I loved the combat and the story was fantastic. There is so few of these games with what I call slow and strategic hand to hand combat. Like Dark Souls and my old favourite Blade of Darkness. So if you like difficult hand to hand combat games, this is the game for you.

I loved the first one, and I can't want for the new one. This talk of RPG elements has me even more excited. Is there any chance you guys will ever release or remake Zenozoik? That would be amazing. I love the style of Zeno Clash but I think I would like it even better in a SLIGHTLY more traditional fantasy setting.

I personally loved "Zeno Clash" pretty much every aspect, including the bizarre story, which was a great point for me. Really wanna get more into this for the next game; wish I might have some money to get a copy a when it comes out, but maybe, who knows haha.

Many props to the creators if you/ya'll are the one's commenting here! :D

I have yet to finish the first one (just started recently), but I'm loving it. I don't understand why people are complaining about the story being bizarre. That's my favorite thing about it. It's so different and strange. Character design is very interesting, too. And I agree with others about the hand-to-hand combat; it's something that makes the game challenging and fun.
