Is it worth the money or not?
Hello, I´m not sure if I should buy the game or not. Some threads says it is not worth the money other says it is. I´m a bit confused therefore i´ll ask YOU what YOU think. Is this game worth the money, should I wait for a 75% sale or is it not worth anything ?

It's all going to come down to a matter of personal preference.
I thought it was absolutely worth it.
Play the demo. If you think the demo is interesting, then you'll probably like the main game even more.
It's a relatively short game if you're not scouring it over and over for secrets, but it's incredibly clever (and very silly).

Okay, how short is a relatively short game ?
Thank you for your answer.

I think its worth your money.

Be advised however, this game is short (ish), but I dont think that because of that you shouldn't buy it because its still really awesome and an enjoyable game. (quality>quantity!)

I would say its around 4 hours, if you want to both find most of the endings and explore the game just a bit.

I would recommend waiting for the sale. I was very disappointed. £7.99 for a game with only around 12 endings and little content with average graphics is just not acceptable. Took me about 3 hours to find all endings. Definitely not worth the money.

* I would also like to point out that The Binding of Isaac is around the same price WITH DLC and has far more content and gameplay than this. Spend your money elsewhere.

I might do that. It is many money compared to what I could get for them by buying other games.

If I can only use 4 hours to complete it.

Might also be worth mentioning that The Stanley Parable was in the Top 10 selling games on Steam for several days after release. Sure, some of those people who bought it were, like billyhordanowen here, disappointed, but if the game didn't justify its price then it probably wouldn't have sold nearly as well.

You are probably right. But if you were me would you buy it right now or wait for a sale ?
ReverendTed Oct 26, 2013 @ 8:26am
Well, I bought it and don't regret it, but I spent $15.50 (USD) to see "Gravity" in IMAX 3D yesterday and was only a little irritated that it cost so much.
If $15 is more than throwaway money for you, then what do you have to lose by putting it in your Wishlist and waiting for a sale?

I thought it was worth every cent, but if you're in doubt, wait for a sale. :)

Do you guys think that this is a game or art ?

It's selling so well because popular gamesites like Gamespot gave it a good score, increasing the hype factor.

I think the 14.99 is still a bit high. Really all this "game" is finding all the paths to all the "endings" (or rather false endings.) There is no "message" like some here like to believe, thinking it boosts their intellect somehow.

Getting 4 hours out of this is a stretch. Unless you are that diehard person who wants to replay several of the endings many times just to witness a minor change on the next play through, like game objects being slightly rearrange. Hooray, real fun. People who spend the most time with this game are the ones being fooled that there is more to it than there really is. When actually all it is is just a walk through a funhouse.

Both, although the balance between the two is certainly debatable.
I'd say that it's probably a little more art than game. The Game is exploring and discovering, which is fun but somewhat repetitive after a while as you start to retread old paths looking for new directions to try.
The Art is the writing and teasing\subversion of narrative and gaming tropes (and accompanying visual effects and gags), and it's fantastic.
