Thanks. I'm done already. Deleted it off my wishlist.
There's too many good games to play that ship in reasonable, tested condition to waste my time on games that were released before they were ready. This stuff will keep happening for so long as consumers tolerate it. My tolerance level for this has hit zero. :D
It's now crashing on me whenever I try and load a game while exploring outside the mages tower.
Definitely a developer I will be steering clear of in the future. Unfortunately I took part in their Battleworlds Kronos Kickstater because I didn't know that they don't support their products.
I really enjoyed the first game in the series. It was easy, but a great introduction to adventure games and even for an experience adventure gamer the story, graphics and humour made it well worth while.
The sequel keeps the excellent graphics, but everything else is much worse. It is probably about half as long, with very few locations that you often have to often revisit. The story and humour aren't bad, but not up to the quality of the first game.
The biggest problem with Critter Chronicles is the puzzles. Like the first game, the puzzles are mostly very easy. That was okay in the first game, the puzzles usually made some sense. In the the sequel, the puzzles are often absurd. I won't describe any so as not to spoil the game, but very often I found myself trying to combine all objects with each otther and with every hotspot on every screen, often several times. When I did find the solution it was usually ridiculous.
There is one point in the game where the developers include some more challenging puzzles, in the mage tower. They might as well not have bothered, these puzzles were very poorly designed.
Overall this is a very poor effort.
Sorry to hear it was such a disappointment. I have it now for some reason. I'm thinking maybe I got it in a bundle or something. Unless I managed to forget this thread and bought it on sale or something but hopefully not. lol
Totally off-topic but since I don't expect too much traffic here anyway, what the heck? How is Battleworlds Kronos? Have you had a chance to play that at all yet? I saw some bug reports on the Mac App Store I think. I hope they didn't mess that up too. I was wondering what you think of it if you've had a chance to play it yet.
