Im stuck at the second chapter, maybe a glitch?

Im on the current mission to show leela the stars, but i cant get the generator going. There is no pinguin at the treadmill and i cant find him anyway. Im also cant find the pepper mill which i need for the yeti house puzzle. I made a mistake at the beginning. I used the colourpaper for the fireplace at the yeti house. Actually i should gave the colourpaper to leela. Is the any help or i need to start a new game?

The penguin will come to you once you try and make the treadmill moving.

Pepper shaker only becomes available once you showed Layla the stars. Does not matter whether you used the wrapping paper or the coloured paper.

I gave the paper to Layla but also not getting the penguin to show up.

[edit] Ah in the sanctuary you have to put the hourglass/sand in the conveyer belt, and then you can pick it up at the right of the screen.
When you attach it to the machine outside, try to run yourself, the penguin will come running.
