Comes up short compared to the first one.
Finally finished this game, and while it was interesting to see some of the backstory which primarily focused around critter. I was somewhat underwhelmed overall. The puzzles where in the first one made sense to an extent some of the combinations in this one seemed a bit ridiculous. Still a beautiful game, but this one felt rushed. Looking forward to their next game now.

Just finished it. And yes, that pretty much describes my experience. It's still fun to play.

The most annoying part was the fact that Critter can't talk properly. In the original BOUT it was somewhat okay, because it was just the chapter with the escape from the prison. But in the Critter Chronicles he is part of all chapters in the game (not really surprising). The talking could have been solved more nicely.

edit: Just to make it clear: If you liked the first game, the Critter Chronicles are still something worth looking into. I'm really looking forward to the third game.

That's disappointing to hear, I really loved the first one

Just finished the The critter cronicles too.

What lovely games both are. Great atmosphere and story-telling, beatiful graphics, good narration and many memorable dialogs and puzzles. It was a pleasure to play them!

Also see the first game a little bit upfront, but just in nuances. If you enjoyed the first you gonna like the prequel aswell.

Looking forward for the next adventure from King Art, keep it coming (and don't forget about the Linux build while you do so;)!
