Buy rocksmith DLC on Steam and use it on Rocksmith 2014?
Hi, I just bought Rocksmith 2014. Can I buy DLC for Rocksmith in steam and use it in Rocksmith 2014? Or do I have to buy the DLC "in game"? There is much more to choose from in the Steam library.

Thanks.

I've got a similar question. I bought Rocksmith and quite a few DLCs for it. Can I use them in Rocksmith 2014? If yes, how?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I'm playing it over Steam on a PC.

The short answer is yes, you can buy and use DLC from RS1 in RS2014.
However, right now you can only buy dlc from RS1 if you own it. They may be working on this but it cant be promised.
You can only use for RS2014 on steam if you have that dlc on steam. It will not transfer platforms.
If you want to play the original songs from RS1 the "on disc" games, you have to pay a fee of $9.99. This does not apply to dlc though, it transfers automatically.

DLC from Rocksmith 1 is automatically transferred to Rocksmith 2014, you don't have to do anything. :)

Thanks for your answer!

I own both Rocksmith versions on steam. The DLCs were also bought on steam. I have no prblem with paying $9.99 to transfer the DLCs from Rocksmith to RS2014. I'm glad to see that it's possible.

Can you please tell me how. Is there a link to this info or the shop with this "product"?

Thanks.

Can't see it under "show downloadable DLCs" :(

edit: Or can I only see it in-game?

To get the transfer just go to the RS2014 store page, it will show up under RS2014, but NOT in the DLC section.

"Buy Rocksmith 2014 Disc Import Tool
Requires Ownership of Rocksmith on Steam in order to use the Disc Import Tool."

I guess I'm blind at that. Can't see it in the shop (http://store.steampowered.com/dlc/221680/). Just songs to buy there.

Sorry for bothering.

edit: I did a search in the shop on the disc import tool, no results :(

The DLCs are automatically in your song list, I think they have a little "DLC" sign in the left upper corner of the song's icon. DLCs are transfered for free.

For the songs that were in Rocksmith 1 from the beginning you will have to buy the "Disc Import Tool". Rocksmith 2014 will start to download them automatically after your purchase and once the download is finished, they will be in your ingame library. They will have a "RS1" sign in the left upper corner of the song's icon. :)

That's the problem that they're working on fixing. Steam isn't set up to link a DLC to two different titles, so you can't buy the old DLC right now unless you own the original Rocksmith, and the DLC won't show up in the properties screen for Rocksmith 2014.

It should still show up in the game if you own it. That much they have fixed.

They are trying to fix the rest.
