Oh that's cool, wish I had got the first Rocksmith.

I do... so let's see how it work...

I thought owning RS1 was going to be enough to get the songs into RS2, can't believe they are charging another 10 bucks for it!

That's kinda greedy Ubisoff... also dishonest. You never said you would charge us to play the song we have in the first rocksmith in the second game. You're making me pay twice for the same content. Not cool Ubi, not cool.

Anyone think/know if it will import custom songs as well? Also, does anyone know if the tool has been adjusted for us PC users? In other words, not requiring the actual disc and going by the Rocksmith install folder.

It's because they had to re-license the songs for the new game.

It's not just that they never said they would charge us... they specifically said that they would not. To quote their official FAQ: "Your previous DLC purchases will be transferable without any sort of re-payment". They said on the next question that this would also apply to the on-disc songs from one. So if that's what the import option is, it's going back on their word directly.

me to wtf terrible business model expecting people to already pay for RS then an additional $10 for them to be added not doing that just so I can have it on the same game...

I have the original RS on Xbox360. I'd gladly pay $10 to import the songs from my Xbox version to PC.

If you can import from PS3, i'm gonna be happy yet quite mad at UBI for not telling us sooner. I Bought Rocksmith on PC just so i'd have the songs in the 2014 version. I didn't want to continue playing on my ps3 version.

I'll keep an eye on this. I'm not buying anything more for now since Ubi can't be straightforward and give us all the info we need to make an informed decision.

WHy are you people so surpirised about this? Almost every music gam ein the past 5 years have an import fee. It cost money to license the music for the first game, and they probly made conracts to have the right to import the songs. And why should you care? If you were smart aboust when you bought the first one, you should have only played ~$10 for this games to begin with.
Kemeros Oct 22, 2013 @ 10:42am
I'm not mad they charge. I'm mad that they lied about charging. If they would have told me it would cost 10$ more before hand... the 10$ would already be paid and i would never have posted here. Communication is key. Don't tell me it's gonna be free if it's not gonna be free.

Does any of you guys know if this method imports DLC purchased songs and the ones that originally came with the game? Or maybe, one or the other alone? Meaning only DLC purchased songs or only the ones included on the original rocksmith game.
