Documentation: Riff Repititor and Technique Symbols

Hello!

is there any documentation of Rocksmith 2014 hiding anywhere? Especially regarding the Riff Repititor and symbols for playing techniques, like hammer-ons, slides or pull-offs.

Actual questions I have:

Bat Country from Avenged Sevenfold, third part in the riff rep there is a D5 chord that looks like E-A-D without fingering, but there is an X on each string. What is that? Rather looks like E-A-D palm muted, but why a D5 next to it?

Same song, what do exclamation marks next to a single not mean?

In Riff Rep what do: "Wdh.: Schwierigkeit" and "Wdh.: Aufstrieg", (german). These are options number 4 and 6, counted from top. Translating would be something along "Repeat: Difficulty" and "Repeat: Level Up".

I don't know of a quick guide to the symbols used but have you tried going into tools/technique guide/guitar menu? When I first started using the program it was mostly blank but I have done a few of the lessons and it's now filled out with all the techniques and symbols used. You may have to go through the lessons first though.

There is a mute symbol that looks like a cross but I haven't done that lesson yet :)

In the riff repeater if you see an exclamation mark it means you missed that note on your last play-through. In the English edition it's "Difficulty repetitions" & "Level up". What you do here is set the riff repeater to your desired difficulty first, say 50. Then try and play it perfectly. If level up is turned on and you play the riff perfectly you will level up and the riff's difficulty will be automatically increased when the riff re-starts. I think the repitions setting is the number of times you need to play the riff correctly before you trigger a level up.

"Speed repetitions" & "Accelerate" work exactly the same except on the speed instead of the difficulty of the riff.

"Master mode" will eventually make the notes dissapear from the track if you keep nailing that riff so it forces you to play entirely from memory.

Dianetics: Sorry, I don't really understand. Sure, D5 is a power-chord, but why the strings are there if they are not to play?

I got quite a bit of problem understanding the game too, to be honest I still don't recognize which string is which ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ color and everytime I got to count the frets as well :P As for the symbols you can learn them by playing the lessons.

The biggest step Ubi could take towards RS actually being the learning tool they are now plugging it as would be to take the time and trouble to produce some proper documentation, including a comprehensive manual and a seperate beginners guide.

Just click Commuinty Hub in the in the Rocksmith window.
then look for Guides Took me 5min to find it.
