64-bit error
built gaming system with a 64-bit Ubuntu-based Linux distribution installed. I have that package installed already, but it's the 64-bit version.

Obviously, this needs to be fixed. Either add a separate... .deb file for 64-bit systems or fix the current file so that it's not architecture dependent....

64 bit version
I would like to get the time frame on the deployment of the 64 bit version. Right now I am running on hardware that does not support 32 bit due limited support for 32 bit to access 16 GB memory. I am... running Kubuntu 12.04 and that is fine now if I have to run 32 bit libraries as well, I can patch those in but I am not sure how they would interact with the kernel and how for make things work without...

Flashplayer on 64bit
As you may have noticed there are some problems when you are using a 64bit system & flashplayer. The current 32bit only Beta requires a 32bit Flashplayer for its browser, but it's still just looking...

Currently working workaround: Pick one of the 3 that does not exist and create it, then simply put the 32bit libflashplayer.so in there - every browser should by default skip...
Result of using the 32bits flashplayer for me : crash

Without Flash life is nicer....

Problem - Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS (32bit and 64bit)
. Just manually install the *-lts-raring packages and steam should start. Just do a CTRL+C when the terminal opens and asks to install additional packages. It's a bit annoying but not dramatic...
tried to install the software.
Also, what do you mean by "32 and 64-bit"? Which one is your system?...

UT2K4 32bit on ubuntu 64bit no sound.
hi,

i would like to get the 32bit version running with sound on my 64bit ubuntu machine so i can add it to steam and use the overlay while playing, which of course dose not work with the 64bit... version of UT2K4.

so far i could only get the 64bit version wokring with sound after changing in the "System" folder of the game, the libSDL-1.2.so.0 and openal.so with newer ones, i found on on the net...
the 64bit version works fine too, as i described above, but i cant use the overlay because the overlay only works on 32 bit games....
Hi, after reading your post I remembered I have UT2004 installed (totally forgot!) and just added the 64bit version to Steam without problems, and with sound working fine. I'm in chakra 64bits though...

Download a 64-bit game (if available) on Ubuntu 64 bits
, but not their i386 version.

It is too bad because (1) there is no error message when launching the game from steam (there's a black screen and that's it), (2) I'm pretty sure there is a 64-bit version... of this game (Amnesia does have a 64-bit version - I had it from Ubuntu Software-Center). The only way to figure this out is to try to run the game directly from the command line and see the error messages, you...
Steam is 32bits at the moment, so the devs are currently deciding to ship & launch 32bit versions of their games to have the overlay + integration supported.

As for the dependencies and game...
