Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit Steam not running
As the title states I'm having issues with getting Steam to run on Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit. I believe I've installed the appropriate 32-bit libraries, and I've updated my graphics to NVIDIA's latest...

Problem - Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS (32bit and 64bit)
. Just manually install the *-lts-raring packages and steam should start. Just do a CTRL+C when the terminal opens and asks to install additional packages. It's a bit annoying but not dramatic...
tried to install the software.
Also, what do you mean by "32 and 64-bit"? Which one is your system?...

64-bit error
built gaming system with a 64-bit Ubuntu-based Linux distribution installed. I have that package installed already, but it's the 64-bit version.

Obviously, this needs to be fixed. Either add a separate... .deb file for 64-bit systems or fix the current file so that it's not architecture dependent....

64 bit version
I would like to get the time frame on the deployment of the 64 bit version. Right now I am running on hardware that does not support 32 bit due limited support for 32 bit to access 16 GB memory. I am... running Kubuntu 12.04 and that is fine now if I have to run 32 bit libraries as well, I can patch those in but I am not sure how they would interact with the kernel and how for make things work without...
Running 64bit Ubuntu, everything is hunky dory!...

Flashplayer on 64bit
As you may have noticed there are some problems when you are using a 64bit system & flashplayer. The current 32bit only Beta requires a 32bit Flashplayer for its browser, but it's still just looking...
/usr/lib/firefox/plugins
Currently working workaround: Pick one of the 3 that does not exist and create it, then simply put the 32bit libflashplayer.so in there - every browser should by default skip...
Thank you for the info.

I used boot's link to download 32-bit flash, and extracted it into ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/plugins (I created plugins folder). After restarting Steam, I can now... watch videos.

I think the key is getting the 32-bit flash if you don't have one. Ubuntu 64-bit only has 64-bit libflashplayer.so, and thus a simple symlink won't work.

Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit....
Result of using the 32bits flashplayer for me : crash

Without Flash life is nicer....

64 Bit Linux gmod
I figured I'd post on here since Garry likes to ban people form facepunch who point out problems. The menu for mounting games in 32 bit Linux works but in 64 bit even with a clean install...
I have the same problem as you and multiplayer settings don't work too.

That's a known bug with gmod's awesomium browser affecting all 64bit systems. This is the bug report, if you want to follow up on it: https://github.com/Facepunch/garrysmod-issues/issues...

64 bit Opensuse no sound
32 bit Opensuse works just fine. With 64 bit i tried SDL_AUDIODRIVER=pulseaudio steam and SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa steam. This usually works (kind of) with games like tf2 but gmod will absolutely not get...
Maybe I'm a bit too late:
I had the same issues regarding the sound like you. Installing the Xfce version of Suse instead the KDE fixed it....
Pulse audio works fine with everything but steam. Well almost fine. Pulse audio has a memory leak for every 64 bit distro atm. kmix and pavucontrol will eay all the ram if you let them run.

I know...
