Feature Request: More Window controls
Most Linux WMs have support for some features I tend to use. Always on top selection and middle click on title bar to hide a Window (to put it behind others) for example. They don't work on Steam's windows because it doesn't use WM's window decorations. I'm always missing the always on top option when I'm chatting through Steam.

I don't know if there is any easy way to make these available, except to use WM's window decorations which should be optional anyways. Maybe you should check how Chromium handles this and make something similar.

I also want to remind that on Ubuntu window controls are on the left side by default (that's how I use it btw). There is already another discussion about that somewhere here.

I am running kwin and was able to tell it to always display the window decorations for steam. I know kde uses alt+f3 to access the window menu (at which point you can tell it to not hide the decoration), might be the same for gnome/unity.

Though i would like to see an option in steam to do this.

I'm using Unity and Openbox and I guess I could trick it somehow. Probably using Compiz Config Settins Manager (ccsm) on Unity and modify rc.xml on Openbox, but that's not what I want. This would really make Steam a bit more usable anyway.

Ability to modify window controls would be really nice, I use a tiling WM and do all the window actions using the keyboard, so I don't need the controls at all.

I imagine this issue report covers this https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/1040
