Which gamepad for Linux?
Hi, I am looking to buy a new gamepad, from the big picture mode images it looks like the Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 is used, which is the one I have been looking at. Does anyone currently use this model and know how well it works with Linux or can otherwise suggest another equally good wireless gamepad?

I would prefer native support without any messing about which my other Logitech products all seem to need. Alternatively if anybody knows a company that is actively supporting the Linux platform with their products, not relying on the community to do the work for them let me know because I would rather honour their efforts with my money.

Well, as you probably know, that controller has a switch for both Xinput and DirectInput modes. It gets detected as a generic xbox 360 controller in Xinput mode, so it should work fine. A lot of games support the xbox 360 controller without configuration (such as Trine 2, and Team Fortress 2).
