Drivers update got messed up
Yesterday my software center (kubuntu 12.10) said that I have some updates, related to ati drivers. I updated the system.

I have the logo that had text: beta drivers or something like that.

Now it says that I have unsupported hardware!

What to do, to reverse?

Don't add Xorg Edgers PPA if you doesn't aware of instability of software from this PPA.
Do "ppa-purge ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa" and install Catalyst 12.11 Beta 11 this way[wiki.cchtml.com].

I don't think these drivers are 12.11 beta 11, I note, for example that the HL2Linux section that's in the atiogl.xml wasn't in them.

I had the same logo&text. To get rid of it, you need to replace the /etc/ati/control file. If you don't have the file from before the driver update backed up, you can use the procedure described at the URL below. Not sure if this has any side effects.
