AMD Catalyst 13.12 is Out for Linux!
Has anyone tried this? It says it supports Ubuntu 12.04.2 and 3.04 in the release notes, but I am running Ubuntu 13.10.

Yea, another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ driver. No performance change in Dota 2 or ANY other Linux game. ♥♥♥♥ AMD.

What hardware are you using, gutigen?

Well there's your issue, AMD 7XXX series graphics drivers are not yet well supported, which is why I have hesitated to upgrade my 6670.

It's not my issue, but AMD issue which works very hard to keep linux gamers away from it's products. If this ♥♥♥♥ is not fixed till ubuntu 14.04, I may have to sell this card, go Nvidia and never look back again :/

For me, I am holding out to see what works best with SteamOS. I am using the open source drivers with my AMD 6670 with little to no issue on Ubuntu 13.10 and kernel 3.11. I have been an AMD fan and user for years because I thought they gave the best bang for the buck, and upgrading was a bit easier with there AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, etc. scheme. However, when I am ready to upgrade next, I will go with whoever supports Linux and the open community best, but right now I don't see a whole lot of support from either side: I am hoping this will change with the advent of the Steam OS and Steam Machine.

The 7000 series is one of few series they actually support with the proprietary driver. I imagine they're working on more than the 5000 and 6000 series, which is why it's really frustrating that those changes don't apply.

You are right about that, you will need the proprietary driver for the 7XXX series.

LOL, it was nvidia coming with the "great" idea of GPUs designed for general computing. Remember Fermi? Back then you all cried that you switch to AMD as Fermi was crap. Now AMD comes with the same stupid idea, GCN, which is crap, and you all cry that you switch to nvidia. People are so predictable, like little kitties cryin meow, meow, meow. Just wait until Intel comes with its own GPU designed for general computing instead of gaming. What will you do then? Switch to Matrox? LOL.

Hello you all,
Regarding the last Catalyst Driver 13.12, there is a bug with Ubuntu 13.10 and I can't upgrade it.
http://ati.cchtml.com/show_bug.cgi?id=970
I'm still using the Beta one.
Anyway, in Phoronix there is a summary about the performance between the Driver's update during 2013.

From my point of view, AMD support for Linux it's not as best as NVIDIA, and this is really a pitty.
