When I try and play postal 2 I get the little red screen that comes up with the warning of don't do any of this stuff in real life. The box goes away and then the next full screen starts to appear and it locks up. (I can tell by an icon on my monitor I am switching resolutions but I don't know to what.) It is dark but you can just start to make out some items vaguely. Just like it has shown the first frame of an animation and then locked up on the fade in. You can't alt tab or anything out of the screen. Sound I think is working normally. I have to hit the reset button to escape.
I didn't find any logs that would help as the machine locks up so hard I don't think they are getting captured. If you can point me to some logs that you would like to see or experiments I should run I would be more than happy to.

Solution: I was unable to find any errors and Postal 2 would keep locking up so I thought I would start it from the console to allow me to see what was going on and capture the output. For some reason starting Steam from the console allowed Postal 2 to run. I was able to change the game resolution to my standard screen resolution and then I could start Steam from my icon from my KDE start menu and have Postal 2 work correctly.
I am not sure what the issues are with the screen resolution when starting from an icon versus starting from the command line.
