Serious Sam 3 20 MInute Load Time
SS3 LITERALLY takes 20 minutes to get to title screen. I thought it was freezing at first but the brown loading bar kept moving so I let it load. Then it goes to an all black screen with a loading icon in the the lower let corner. 20 minutes later it's at the main menu screen and I'm getting about 1 frame every 2-3 seconds. I've tried Catalyst 13.1, 13.4, and now 13.6 Beta with no improvements. I know I have to be missing something. Game runs fine under Windows 7 with moderate to high settings.

Linux Mint 15 RC (Cinnamon)
Lenovo Ideapad Y560P (Display modded to 1080P)
AMD Mobility Radeon HD6570M
Intel Core i7-2630QM
16 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz
Samsung 830 256 GB SSD

i wouldnt know but that happend with me with ubuntu on half life 2 dm i would try a driffrent distro?!!!

Catalyst 13.8 gave me a big performance boost, but the game never took that long to load for me. And it does not load any faster with this latest beta driver.

Are you sure you installed the driver correctly? I mean you only tested most likely 64 bit mode )(with fglrxinfo) but the game is 32 bit. Also it would be usefull to cleanup this when you change the driver:
rm -rvf ~/.steam/root/SteamApps/common/Serious\ Sam\ 3/Temp/ShaderCache/
